Once again, I find myself with a transaction denied on my card. This is getting bothersome. It all has to due with the fact that you will request an hold on funds weeks in advance of actually processing and shipping the order. Every month, I need to be sure that I've available twice the required funds because when you try to charge the cards the previous hold for the same amount is still in effect. No other online shopping venue has this issue. I get charged once (with no pre-authorization shenanigans) and that's that. It's frustrating, whay can't you just handle this like all other online shops?

In any event, to solve the specific issue, please resubmit the authorization request on the card on Monday, since it will be the beginning of the new month.

I'm sorry to hear that the authorizations are causing you trouble! I've temporarily suspended your order until Monday so it should not attempt to ship out before then.

I've taken a look into our card processor, and it looks like your original authorization should have expired today and the funds should have already been returned to your account. I will send an authorization reversal request to make sure that the hold is released as soon as possible, though it may depend on how quickly your bank processes that request.

We authorize cards when an order is placed to make sure that the payment method is valid, but we do not finalize the charges until an order is processed for shipping. If an order is able to ship quickly, then our system should just finalize the open authorization so it is essentially viewed as one charge on a banking statement. However, if there are delays or if the product is part of a subscription which has a 2 week shipping window from the time it is submitted, those authorizations will fall off and we are unable to finalize them and must create a new one. I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience that this may have caused.

Thanks for your reply. I think I understand how the authorization system works, I'm suggesting that you (you as in Paizo, of course) should look into changing how things are handled. By reading this forum, I'm not the only one who has issues with the system.

Do I have to take further actions or will the order proceed automatically?

Hello Nikosandros,

No, you do not have to do anything. The warehouse will try again to ship it.

If you have trouble with authorizations one work around we recommend is to purchase store credit and use that on your subscriptions. Like with PDF purchased, a purchase of a gift certificate is authorized and immediately finalized since the gift certificate does not need to be shipped out and is granted immediately. You can set your subscriptions to always use store credit first. As long as you have enough credit available to cover the order your card will not be charged or authorized.
