Sometimes they do not come through automatically. I had to ask for mine last week.

Ask and you shall receive! Here is the most current list of specials and their requirements. I'll ask Chris to make a link on the PFS page as well.
Did this page ever get built? If so, can someone provide a link for it please?

It's not an official page, but I've been keeping track of star requirements and table requirements as best I can until there is an official page.

Thanks! This is a great resource! I've bookmarked it for reference! You rock!

Happy to be of service!

By the way, if anyone (especially Tonya/John/RVC/VC) knows of any updates to the requirements, or wants to grace us with another shot of the copy/paste list, I will certainly update that page. I know that this time of year is usually when the requirements start getting changed.

Scarab Sages

Solstice Scar (Ver. A) and Attack on Absalom will probably be added after GenCon, but not likely before.

Hate to necromancer this thread, but really wondering how much this has changed from then to now (over a year). Gotta start doing up paperwork for a couple of Cons and it’s be great if there were any updates that needed to be known.

What are you looking for an update upon? Do you want to know what specials still qualify for 5 star status? Alex's list, linked above, is still fairly accurate. You just have to add 10-00 to it.

Hmm

Mainly the minimum tables are what I'm looking for. What 10-00 would be, did any of the 5 tables go to 4? Did any of the 4 tables go to three? Etc.

Oh, hey, I should fix that. (Fixed. Hao Jin Cataclysm now on the list.)

10-00 is 4 tables. We haven't had any changes to table requirements as far as I've heard.

Good to know. Gotta juggle a few things around here to make them work.

Yeah, I made my 5th star... I was going to hold out until GenCon and see if I could be the last Five Star awarded in the Campaign, but that 5th Star Replay just tempted me too much...

wait, you weren't asking for an update on my status?...

I guess I'll be moving on now...

Hmm throws confetti for Nosig!

We always welcome and congratulate new five stars! Welcome, Nosig! I know this was a long time coming for you!

Heck, I figure I'm early... I've still got lots and lots of stuff to run, a bunch of it for the first time even! But t'anks for the confetti... I use it for casting glitterdust spells.

No, not particularly, but good on you for getting your final star. It's going to be quite a long time before I get that chance. Just not enough single table specials for our tiny lodge to run, unfortunately.

Derek,

Have you tried online conventions? Also remember that as a four star VL you can run True Dragons of Absalom. True Dragons was one of the specials that I used to qualify for my fourth star. You could also run one of the single table specials online as well. If you don't like PBP, there is always Virtual Table Top.

Don't know anything about online conventions, but True Dragons is a 5-star special. I have run it, but only because I've got VL status giving me the +1. Other than that, I'm trying to convince my players to do a few specials via Core.

Just to reiterate HMM's point--my local area has a lot of experienced GMs and a smaller player base, so when I needed specials for my fifth star, I GMed specials online as well as in-person. Running games in a new region can be a little daunting in theory, but in practice it's pretty easy and the players I've had have been pretty amazing. There are a lot of very friendly people who would be happy to jump in and help you get the hang of things, too! (Speaking of HMM...) The region's really got a voracious appetite for GMs.

(You can also sidestep some of the extra set-up time by asking to get a copy of a table, or of a slide-deck, from someone who's already got one. I'd be happy to make you a copy of my True Dragons or Maelstrom Rift tables on Roll20, for example.)

Our region does have a voracious appetite for GMs. Yummy, yummy GMs with a dash of curry powder...

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/55/55/5 **** Venture-Captain, Minnesota

More seriously, online is always looking for GMs. Virtual Table Top has an initial tech load out, but is doable on most computers. If you're interested, go to PFSchat.com, and ask Hels or Stuntmonkey to help you out.

As for PBP, that's adventures in slow mode. I recommend GMing a scenario that isn't a special first to get a hang of it, or better yet, play in one. They're really immersive and roleplay heavy. You can talk to me or Redelia about it. We do not accept GMs for PBP multi-tables until they've GMed something else to completion in Play-by-Post. But once you've done that, we're also always looking for new GMs. You have time now to GM something before we start recruiting for the OutPost special, 10-00. OutPost starts in March, and we will be recruiting for it right around the start of January.

Contact Redelia or Elinnea if you want to get started GMing something on Paizo forums. (There is also a vibrant PBP community on the Roll for Combat Discord channel that might be a great place to get started if you are familiar with discord formatting.)

Hmm

I appreciate the information guys, but circumstances still limit me. I'm guessing Roll20 doesn't function well on a phone (my main source of internet). I have access to a computer, but it's old and I can't do what I want on it at all times. Also, there are cons in our capital city (3 hours away), but I am limited medically/physically and can not properly participate in them. Because of the cons around us existing, the small player base here, goes there. The con here sometimes gets people who didn't travel, and I run that one table.

As for GMs, we have five, but only two of us are regularly available. Over the 10 years PFS has existed, I've been active for seven of them, and managed to get seven specials under my belt (including the Season 2 and 3 multitables).

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/55/55/5 **** Venture-Captain, Minnesota

If you're on old tech and can manage a few posts a day, talk to Redelia and Elinnea. Play-by-Post works great with old tech. All you need is the ability to post on our forums and tell a story.

I'd still like you to run something else in PBP before tackling one of the stand alone special tables, but then we could give you the green light to run True Dragons, or one of the 4 star stand alones.

Come, join us in PBP.

That sounds like a frustrating situation to be in, Derek! Sorry to have suggested some things that clearly won't work. I can vouch for Play-by-Post on my phone, though--that, at least, is completely viable as HMM says!

Grand Lodge 4/5

@HMM — Definitely understand that I’d need experience with at least one game before doing a special. Makes sense. I’ve tried PBP years ago during the 3.5 days. Both as a GM and player. Neither worked out, but that wasn’t PFS and there was no reason for anyone to dedicate themselves to the game.

@Alex — It’s fine. You didn’t know the situation. That’s the downside to text vs in-person. You can’t see someone’s status online.

Derek,
I will be starting up a couple games next month (1 starfinder, and one pathfinder), you would be welcome at either or both tables! Just PM me if interested!

PBP is a great medium for gaming, but it is not for everyone. However, you should give it a chance again, IMHO!
