I want to order a Paizo Venture Agent Polo Shirt, but at the moment they don't exist. This thread is my way of a) formally requesting such a Polo Shirt and b) brainstorming a potential color for it.
COLORS ALREADY IN USE
There are lots of PFS Polo Shirts worn at conventions.
Blue -- Paizo Employees
Lemon -- RVCs
Red -- Venture Captains
Green -- Venture Liutenants
In addition, apparently Purple and Orange are used for GM and HQ volunteers at Paizo and GenCon.
BRAINSTORMING ANOTHER COLOR THAT COULD WORK
I would love to get a Polo Shirt that I could wear as a VA when I go to Conventions and GM. Although there are colors left in the Polo Shirt Rainbow, I understand that the requirements are:
1) Must stand out in a crowd of gamers. So Black, White, Grey and Tan are probably out, right?
2) Must not be confused or overlap with existing colors.
So if we were to petition Tonya for a Polo for Venture Agents, what color could we reasonably go for? Mint green, to echo the VL shirt while still being distinctive? Lavendar? Hot pink? Would Purple be permitted, even if it's used as a general GM shirt at the main cons?
Is there a color that we can find that will meet requirements and still be manly enough that VOs other than me would be willing to wear them?

You probably would want to avoid purple and orange as those correspond to volunteer T-Shirt colors.
Which leaves...not a lot. I like pink. Maybe maroon, or a very light version of one of the other colors like baby blue or light green.

Actually, if purple is used for Volunteer GMs at GenCon, it may still be okay.
If you're a VA, what are you likely to do? GM. And at GenCon, a VA outside their territory is probably considered to be no more or less important than any other volunteer GM.
It's not GenCon that I want the shirt for. It's for all the local conventions where I volunteer. Minnesota keeps creating new ones. Cons spawn faster than drunken goblins. I want a shirt that proclaims: "Hey, ask me your PFS questions. I might know something!"
I like purple, mint green, sky blue, teal and lavendar. Personally, I'd love hot pink, but I recognize that there are many VAs who'd probably never ever wear it.

Maybe this really doesn't matter. Maybe I should give up on the idea and assume that between my friendly manner and my purple hair, people will just find me to ask me questions at most cons anyway.
Maybe I should just make myself a custom pin with "PFS Questions? Ask ME!" on it.
I'll admit that I really like both the look and the visibility of the current Venture Officer shirts, though. They make you super easy to spot.

Back in the day (in Europe), soldiers wore colored tunics to differentiate one side from the other. (I like to think they wore skins of different animals, so the bear tribe would battle the wolf tribe, but that is just my fantasy.) Eventually the various factions/warlords/dukes bordered more factions/warlords/dukes than they had colors for. Eventually two factions/warlords/dukes's families married instead of fighting. In these cases the tunics became half one color/half another. Time passes. Then they went to quarters, then patterns (diamonds stripes mostly). Symbols and emblems get added. More time passes. Heraldy is born (I think the Scottish Tartan evolved similarly).
In short, stripes would be the next likely step (compare polo shirts to rugby shirts). But I would rather see the VA in bear skins. Or a tartan, kilts do tend to stand out in a crowd (unless the crowd is at a highland games festival :).
As far as standing out, I forget the couple's name, but at GenCon they had exclamation points on their hats.... Which is apparently a thing now

I honestly think a grey would work best. For the most part, I don't associate shirt colors with anything besides shirt colors, and I'm more likely to someone who appears to know what's up instead of hunting down a particular shirt.
Of course, I would be happy to wear animal hides crudely fashioned into covering for warmth and protection, but I'm a tad off....

So, we're going with animal costumes for VOs instead of polos?

You know, maybe white would work after all. Most Gamers, including me, wear black more. Tonya, can we VAs have a white polo? It doesn't conflict with any other of the available colors.

@Muser -- Our mighty VC sheared it all off at SkålCon. We have a tradition of separating our Venture Officers from their hair if we raise enough for our charity.

Since I'm the only VA actually expressing an interest in this initiative, there may not be enough community demand.
Maybe I'll just make myself a hot pink or purple polo with "PFS Minion -- Ask Questions Here" on it. One that can't be confused with the official shirts, but still be bright and easy to spot for local cons.
Or just go with a button or something.

The VL shirts were originally a community-led initiative that Paizo did not produce... Not sure if that is still the case or not.
AFAIK, Paizo provides shirts for VCs and above, and VLs (who want to) buy their own through a different company. Though many VLs don't bother getting the polo and just rely on the handy-dandy Paizo Purple/Orange Goblin Shirts.

Hilary, I will second your request for VA polo shirts. I think it's a great idea, and I would be happy to purchase a couple to wear at local PFS events and cons.

I too am interested in this.
I was thinking of having a polo made, with the open rune logo on the chest, upper left side (basically the old Grand Lodge logo, as it is easier for the embroidery machines than the new one).
I wanted something that I could wear that would be recognisable by gamers, but discreet enough that non-gamers wouldn't notice.
Now the question is of course the color.
The colors that are available are maroon, dark blue (navy?) and dark green. All different from the colors currently in use.
I might get one of each and bring them to GenCon.

Do your respective shops have shirts? If not this might be something of interest to them as well. Their logo and Paizo's might be too busy, but white would help with that. Maybe both logos could be worked together the way the "year of X" gets worked in with PFS. Or if a goblin was holding the shop's logo.
Don't forget to use the Community Use logos though, especially if you (we?) go the individual route.

I couldn't help but notice...
Battlestar Galactica (1978) Saga of a Star World pt 3:
Viper Squadrons:
Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, with an "appearance" by "Purple", and "Orange". Coincidence? :P
Let's not get carried away Starbuck.
Back on topic, is the shirt colour such a big driver? There's a lot to be said for being less day-glo.

All official VO shirts must be approved by Paizo along with the logo. While this is good theorycrafting, I caution anyone from actually buying any shirts until Tonya has a chance to weigh in on the topic
Well, I had planned on making a couple for myself - not as an official shirt, but one for fun.
I will also gladly pickup some official VA shirts when they come out.

Paizo doesn't release the embroidered logo that graces the VC/VL shirt in order to prevent multiple iterations of shirts from being produced. Official volunteers should be garbed in clearly recognizable shirts, the usefulness of which might be diluted if similar shirts are produced. There is also the matter of quality control as well. Fan-created items are most certainly welcome so long as they are well-considered in that respect.
