Flaming you say? At a whim. Level 5. You'd have to wait til level 9 for holy. At a whim. For free.
You're right about one thing. Doesn't have to be bane.
Actually, you can't take Advanced Weapon Training until level 9. So a Fighter, and only a Fighter can do this only at high levels.
Meanwhile, any other class can buy magic arrows as soon as they can afford the 160/360 gp price tag.Diego Rossi |

No point in buying a bane cold silver or iron arrow.
you need +1 before you can enhance the ammo
bane increases the + by +2, resulting in a +3 weapon.
+3 weapons overcome cold iron and silver.
Sometime you need them to stop regeneration. A +3 weapon bypass DR, but it do nothing for regeneration.

Because more don't want that? I knew a ton of people in real life that hated the "Tome of Battle" and most people on forums thought it was the best book of all time (3.5 book that became 4e D&D if you don't get the reference.)
I loved Tome of Battle and hated 4e.
With that in mind, I am actually baffled that I constantly see people complain about martial-caster disparity (which I think exists and IS a problem) and in the same breath call Path of War unbalanced as though anything out of that book could be more broken than a spellcaster. To elaborate my view on balance: if it is stronger than a wizard (or other 9th level caster), THEN it is overpowered. If it is weaker than non-spellcasting martial THEN it is underpowered. So balance is literally anything in between those two points.
Sorry if I went way off topic there.

Can we do the same for spellcasters too?
I wanna stop time by swing my sword, damnit.
That is A falsehood.
ToB came from the prequel of 4E (Orcus was its code name)
Then they nerfed Orcus and we got 4E.
In ToB you can recall your encounter power with action in combat (Full rd for Swordsage, free for Crusader, Standard for Warblade).
In 4E, you have to wait 5 minutes after a battle (during a short rest) in general for all classes.

not a big fan of ToB or PoW but that's because i prefer to reign casters in before trying to bring martials up to a level i already think is OP. (and i realize neither of those books actually brought martials in line with casters, but I want to lower the goal posts first.)

Hmm... My only particular want concerning this topic is something that allows a hybrid melee/thrown weapon (such as the starknife or javelin [especially the starknife]) to have a 10ft reach. I realize, of course, that I can do this with Snap Shot and Imp. Snap Shot but the Snap Shot feat isn't gonna do much for the average starknife wielder.
Oh and I'm otherwise fine with the nerf. Two Feats for the longbow to have a 10ft reach? Seems good.
