Alternate Kitsune Racial Trait

Homebrew and House Rules

God day, here is an idea I have for an alternate racial trait for the Kitsune that I would like to run by you for your feedback

Inner fox Your connection to your fox self is stronger and comes more naturally to you than to most of your kin. With this trait you count as meeting the prerequisite for the Fox Shape feat. This trait replaces Change Shape.

So what do you think?

Edit: I was sure I had chosen the homebrew forum. Flagged to move it.

It's kind of lame and I'm not fond of racial traits whose only purpose is to qualify for feat prerequisites.

Ok, so I do I improve it?

This Alternate Racial Trait is to be used with a Kitsune Subrace, I have been toying with.

This subrace lives in a harsher more isolated environment and are a bit more wild (but not feral). They don't interact as much with other races (they don't run into them as often) and have more of a outdoorsmen/survivalist outlook in life.

And over time I see some members of this subrace having lost their ability to assume human form in favor of their fox form, and considering that most Kitsune in the world cannot assume their fox form, I don't see the harm in having a subrace who is losing their human form...at least for some.

Yeah, just make a new race that has shape change turn you into a full fox instead of a human.

A bit of rewording, I admit, but at this point I'm still debating if I want this aspect to be a regular vs an alternate Racial Trait.

Strong Fox Self Like a growing number of Naali, you have lost your connection to your Human form in favor to your Fox form due to the isolated and self-reliant lifestyle of your people. You gain Fox Shape at first level. This trait replaces the Change Shape trait.

If I decide to go regular, then I'll slightly edit the Change Shape description.
