Round 2 of the Legendary Vigilantes playtest has begun, the Crimson Edition! Just like before, you can comment on the doc or in the thread, and remember, only you can be a hero!
Legendary Vigilantes Playtest: Crimson Edition

Just looking at it, I love the new archetypes. The Dread Champion (a vigilante antipaladin -- great idea!) and Gore Fiend especially; the latter comes off as a cross between Hannibal Lecter and Jason Voorhees. And there's the Hellion and Plague Scion.
And just the fluff for the Crimson Dreadnaught PrC, brrr.

The vigilante is just a silly versatile class, especially with core archetypes which replaces talents for spellcasting. The Gore Fiend was inspired by talking with the author of Vigilantes of Horror too, and Plague Scion was something Jason wanted to see.
Right now though we just added the Draconic Avenger (please give feedback everyone) and Dragon Champion, two archetypes which I personally enjoy a lot.

I wanted to update everyone that there's been a lot of changes.
Alchemical Scoundrel no longer loses specialization, and bomb use/mutagen are now talents.
Gore fiend's rage rounds are now only equal to their constitution modifier.
Mercurial Duelist's language has been cleaned up a lot.
Plague Scion can now infect others without their knowledge.
Scholarly Tactician's abilities have been changed more to focus more on the tactical knowledge ability.
Shadow Sentinel has been completely revamped.
Symbiotic Slayer has had several talents merged, and the symbiote is better explained.
There's also a few new talents and such, but those are the big changes. Go on and check them out, the playtest still has a while longer to go, and hopefully Legendary Vigilantes will be out soon!

Just purchased the physical copy / pdf bundle on the Legendary Games store, and the pdf isn't showing up in my downloads. Is there a delay on the pdf, or is this an error?

I could maybe see doing something like that with Arsenal Summoner, although since you can turn the symbiote into a suit of armor, it could work for this as well. I need to upgrade that ability later.
Maybe some sort of talent to make the suit of armor symbiote work better?

The first was just some minor balance changes, making sure it flowed better. It's in Legendary Vigilantes if you're wondering why it's not in the playtest. There were a few things shifted in the playtest to other products in which they worked better (in case you're wondering what happened to the Trickshot Sniper as well), but Sentai Soldier is currently in the just released Legendary Vigilantes; the new playtest is for a lot of the content that was too much for the original book.

Consumed Vigilante got moved as well.

Mostly that having Exposed and Consumed in the same book would have been a terrible idea. Those were among the 'fire and ice' archetypes I had, in which if one was in a book, the other couldn't be. The following archetypes were like that
Consumed/Exposed
Mercurial Duelist/Trickshot Sniper
Dynamic Striker/Talented Tactician
Noble Soul/Dread Champion
For my own reasons, I didn't want any of these in the same book because I thought it would dilute their value.

I hate to ask but, the Legendary Games site says that Legendary Vigilante is available at the Paizo store, but I can't find it. Did it get taken down?
I think Jason submitted it to Paizo, but it hasn't been uploaded yet.

Art just came in. You will not believe the cover girl for Legendary Villains: Vigilantes. That is one bad mamma jamma. Wow.
Kareena's art is straight up amazing, and she's also the Kareena referenced in Legendary Vigilantes from Rashid's backstory. I'd like to stat up her mother eventually, just so people could use all 3 in a game.

Looking at the Mercurial Duelist makes me want to get this just to see what I can do by way of a Aldori Swordlord vigilante with that archetype. And just to be sure, the Mercurial Duelist will have proficiency with the Aldori dueling sword since it is a one-handed edged weapon (and they are said to gain proficiency with all such in their description), right? Or would its being an exotic weapon disqualify it?

Yes, it will be proficient in the aldori dueling sword. This and other weapons which I didn't want to have to list out (estoc had to be mentioned specifically) was why I gave it proficiency in all one handed slashing weapons, although if that needs to be clarified, I can do so. But as written and as intended, it works with a sawtooth sabre as well.
