The Academic Sorcerer

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So, I was messing around with another Unusual Character Concept, and this one got a solid response. So I thought I'd share it here. With so many colleges of arcane learning scattered throughout Golarion, I figured that The Academic Sorcerer might be something that would appeal to players looking for a new spin on a base class.

A sage wildblooded bloodline or an Arcainist can both do this role fairly well.

The point I'm making is that ANY sorcerer (or really any arcane caster) could use this backstory. The whole goal is to question the assumptions we make, and to see how we could change them in our games.

An undead bloodline sorcerer teaching Intro to Necromancy is something I'd find hysterical. Especially if he has a storied lineage that he uses to make himself sound more important. A verdant sorcerer teaching botany and life science, or an efreeti bloodline teaching the intricacies of contract binding are things no one expects to see, but as NPCs or PCs, the option is open to spice up the world.
