Affordable gargantuan / colossals?

Miniatures

So I have my 5 or 6 PF Pawn boxes and my 4 erasable flipmats. I'm prepared for all manner of battles. Except if there is a gargantuan or colossal monster involved.

Are there some affordable minis above Huge size I can get for the many different gargantuan and upward monsters that fill the Bestiaries and Monster Manuals of the world? Or do I have to go with expensive (sometimes not even) fully detailed minis if I don't want to just put a small cardboard box on the table as a stand-in?

Minis specifically, not really. Above a certain size, they're not so profitable it seems, so it's usually a special effort (there's the Behemoth KS by Dungeon Crawler also posted in this section, as an example) and when they are made they're fairly costly, and more often something like dragons or giants which would see more use.

I've bought one or two, but I've also looked at regular kids' toys or bottles, etc. You also could make your own if you're artistic, or print out a monster image and tent it to make your own pawns? Otherwise, your best chance is to wait for kickstarters from mini companies like Reaper or Dungeon Crawler, I've found.

I would recommend if your buying dragons go online buy the old McFarlane dragons and base them on a cardboard. Or the old mage knight dragons and giants.

For other monsters such as giants just buy toys there are so many that are available. As for more esoteric monsters. I dont recommend buying Huge or bigger minis unless you cant find them elsewhere as just toys. It will save you lot of money.

Shoot, I forgot - I have a friend who collects statues and such. Getting decorative statues of the appropriate sizes (if you can decorate and have the room) is another option. Not so cheap, I expect, but really if you're going for really large stuff then it might as well be displayed anyway?

Yup, finding toys is often the best bet in these situations.... any mini you get will be at least $40, but you can buy a toy and cut a foamboard base for $15-$20.... even less if you buy loose figures on ebay and find a good listing. Be careful though, shipping on them averages about $9... and most people consider them huge, not gargantuan

I rebased a bunch of cheap demonic action figs from McFarlane's Spawn line and think they look incredible. eBay is your friend for big loose figures...

too bad there isn't anything RPG specific but thanks for the tips.

I do have a whole bunch of McFarlane dragons already, used to collect them, but other than dragons fitting models i imagine are hard to find.
