Backed!
I am so excite! I was surprised by it though. Skeeter posted about Bard's Gate in a facebook group I am part of last night so I asked when the Kickstarter would be and no one replied, ha!
Good thing I keep an eye out for Frog God emails in my promos tab. I keep trying to put those emails in my main box but google will have none of it.

Interesting tie in with the partially owned by FGG (I think) Tabletop Library PDF store
basically free FGG PDFs if the KS does well.

Not owned by FGG itself, but many of the same owners.
Make sure you register at the tabletoplibrary.com site. The first stretch goal (the Gulf of Akados map) has already been achieved, and is now a free download at Tabletop Library until July 15. That was the $25,000 goal, which got broken on day one.shadram |

Jumping aboard the hype train for another FGG mega-book, in an attempt to destroy my book shelves once and for all. Take that, inanimate object! Suffer the wrath of Tsathogga!
I've got the PDF of the original Bard's Gate, and am really looking forward to seeing what they do with it in the update. Should be excellent.

According to the update, if the project hits 500 backers by midnight tonight, (I presume EDT, since that seems to be Kickstarter's default time zone), the Player's Guide to Bard's Gate unlocks early. We are right now 51 backers away from hitting that goal.
Go team! Go!

Yeah, that's pretty normal for Kickstarters. XD You can see the trend on the daily data for The Blight, where there's a lot at the start, a lot at the end, and the middle's pretty quiet. I would be extremely surprised if this didn't fund.

This KS appears to be not as well received as other KS's from FGG. Is it because there isn't enough information going out? What Davrion says is true. We are looking at a 500+ page book with adventures and expanded information about the city of Bard's Gate. Also there should not be any concern about it not making the release date.
So please pass the word around. Let's get this funded and on to the stretch goals.

Maybe it's market saturation? Don't get me wrong, I like Bard's Gate and FGG in general a lot, but I could see people hesitating to buy yet another 500+ shelfbreaker that might or might not ever see use in an actual game.
Still, I hope this one makes it.
I think for those unfamiliar with the original there isn't enough detail. All of the other FGG kickstarters gave you more info on the contents and why it's good/great. What sets Bard's Gate apart? What makes it cool?
Mind you, I was an early backer, so I'm suggesting, not criticizing.

There's also been barely any updates at all throughout the campaign. Compare it to the Blight, with it's daily posts, both on Kickstarter and here... The general feeling I get with this is one of apathy on their behalf: "We'll make a book for $70,000, or whatever, not bothered." And I know this is not true, but a kickstarter with no apparent enthusiasm or drive to push to that total and beyond will always give that impression.
I know the book will be great, but if nobody at Frog God is working to keep this campaign in the public spotlight, it's no surprise that it's going seemingly unnoticed. Here's hoping they can turn it around in the final two weeks...

Shadram, I cannot answer for all of your comments, but I can for one. If you recall a couple of KS ago I was posting almost everyday. As that one came to the end I was told by some of the Frogs that doing that was being sort of selfish always wanting your thread at the top of the topic. In order to keep good relations with Paizo and other forums I have cut back on posting. It's not because I don't care because I do. It's public relations.

A lot of the contents of the book and the add-ons could have used some more promotion. Hopefully the Frog Gods will come out in the next few days and hype this up a bit by giving us some juicy teasers of what we can expect. However, I'm not worried.
Comparing this to the Blight kickstarter it's important to keep some things in perspective. The Blight was a longer than usual project and still didn't fully fund until the 53rd day when there were 5 days left in the campaign. And in those last 5 days The Blight received 32% of it's backers and 43% of it's total funding.
A lot of people just hit the "Remind Me" button on kickstarter and jump in at the last few days. When this happens the project starts hitting it's stretch goals and those hundreds of people who are already backers start upping their pledges to cover the costs of additional add-ons. This has a snowballing effect of unlocking more stuff for people to pledge additional money for.
If I were to make a prediction, I'd say it's going to gain 720 backers and make at least $110k.
