Hello All,

I am taking over a Rise of the Runelords campaign, and another character is needed. Per the title, a martial character with skills.

Currently there is a fighter, cleric, wizard and bard.

In my mind and in alphabetical order a ranger or rogue or slayer would be a good fit, but am open to other options. The character does need to enter melee combat so don't make a glass cannon.

Build requirements:
- 6th level
- max hit points all levels
- wealth: 8,000 but nothing more than +1 enhancement.
- 20 point buy, max 18, min 8 after racial adjustments, and only 1 8 allowed.
- 3 traits, 1 of which is a Campaign trait
- no race builder nor technology nor psionics

For those that know anything about RotR, the group is in the middle of Book 2, in the Manor house. The new character would come in after they finish that section so probably in 3 or 4 weeks, so I will leave this open for about 2 weeks.

Any questions, please ask.

I'll do it. Why the low wealth? Haven't read through RotR, but it's supposed to be the classic place to start with the Paizo APs, right?

Right now, I'm thinking something like ranger, investigator or inquisitor.

What would be appropriate favored enemies? And can I have a Roc companion if I make a ranger? It seems like it'd be fun to fly around on.

Low wealth because that is where the rest of the group is now. It will be upped over the long haul.

Favored enemies, giant, human.

No to the roc.

Aww. It's an official option from the first bestiary and everything.

Oh well. Not going to make a ranger, then, I don't think.

Investigator, on the other hand, seems like a good bet.

Silver Crusade

I will submit Adolina to the fray. I had her statted for a RotRL game originally that fell through. I'll probably submit a Slayer/Shadowdancer build.

Grand Lodge

I will hopefully make something tonight for this.

Robin here, resident Bard in our group! We are likely looking for a martial+skills type to round out our group, which consists of the following:
- Kizzy, Fighter, Bodyguard tank, and loyal adventurer!
- Cadas, Shoanti Cleric, fierce in both battle and divine power!
- Marcellano, Wizard/cyphermage and investigator of Thasillonian secrets!
- And yours truly, caster Bard and comic relief!

Looking forward to all of your submissions.

Would you consider a paladin monk? 2 lvls of paladin, the rest monk, so would have the skills.. and fight hand to hand or ranged, as needed.

Something like this character but not gestalt, obviously... I'd build a new character.

Sanita

This is a character I played in a Kingmaker. Her equipment needs to be redone, but the link above should cover levels, skills, feats, etc. Rogue/Alchemist seems to be a decent melee type for your requirements (Rogue and Alchemist are about the same skill/melee wise).

Silver Crusade

Adolina is finished, updated and ready to go. She's a Slayer who will go into Shadowdancer at either lvl 7 or 8. I realise there's a degree of overlap with Robin but if she was selected then perhaps he could spread his skills around a bit more rather than having to be party rogue :)

Hope you guys like the submission!

Hi guys, just out of curiosity - are you looking for a particular set of skills? Scoutlike? Infiltration? Knowledges?

Posting interest; as either an Investigator or Alchemist. Thinking of performing a focus on dirty tricking and stabbing folks until they cry.

Edit: I see you need trapfinding; I can try to do that, but may I request the Trap Finder trait if I go Alchemist?

Would you mind a somewhat morally ambiguous character? Someone who suffers from both intense curiosity and as such, prepares out of terror.

Scouting would be good. Tracking and Trapfinding are definitely needed. Currently Robin(halfling bard) looks for and disables traps, as well as serves as back-up healer if need be. I think I currently have the best survival skill at a +6... >_<

Kizzy here is built to bodyguard, so she has to stay adjacent to the casters for their protection, so someone with some good mobility who is able to stand on their own is great as well. Looking forward to it!

Oh man. I love investigators. I think I shall submit one later

[I can definitely do that as a paladin monk build... Let me know if you want me to create the character in full for submission or if concept is enough. I will gladly create from scratch now if you want.

Anyone can track, you just need survival skill; anyone can find traps you just need Perception; anyone can disable traps (unless they are magical traps) you just need Disable Device.

In any case, I would seriously consider Monk; capable front liner, good skills; good Dex for Disable Device and Stealth; Good Wisdom for Perception and survival.

Would you be expecting unchained versions? I don't think they are compatible with some archetypes.

One more question, are you expecting any particular role (e.g. reach, trip, DPS?) as a frontline combatant or will any do?

I'm thinking...Fighter 2/Investigator 4, ranged study feat and quick study investigator talent. I'd go empiricist investigator and mobile fighter but focus on ranged. I'll take Investigator at 7 for the Mutagen discovery but after that I'll climb up Fighter for the full BAB progression, feats and weapon mastery

I think Adolina is ok then - I was worried about crossing over with Robin too much but if you need tracking and trapfinding... :D She's got decent ability to move as well!

Alright, current idea is a human alchemist [Beastmorph+Vivisectionist], with the Dirty Fighting feat for combat maneuvers, Improved Dirty Trick for dirty tricks, Power attack for Power Attack, Feral Mutagen for natural attacks, and (here's the big thing) Experimental Spellcaster (From Ultimate Magic) to grab the Accelerate Word, to grant myself some extra move actions to get into position for full attacks.

Grab myself a Mauler tumor familiar for an effective method to help flank, with Share Spells resulting in a two-souled dervish of death.

With this, I should be able to deal 23.5 damage on average (18-35 damage), and with particularly excelent circumstances, an average of 53.5 damage (Full attack with acceleration, flanking, power attack, and familiar hitting, no attack missing) (45-79). If this seems too much for a frontliner, please bring it to my attention- She currently deals (According to Pathfinder's Monster Creation guidelines) 37% of an encounters HP without resource use, and averaging 70% with good location and use of everything.

Maybe I'll build a Hunter. I've got two ideas.

Are you guys good with Variant Multiclass? If you are, than I'll go with one, if you aren't I'll go with the other.

Rohan would like to try again. His eidolon, Copperscale, has good survival and can take care of non magical traps really well. And if you would allow it, Copperscale could take additional traits to get trapfinder so he can deal with magical traps.

Copper here to 2nd everything my buddy just said! I see all the things!

Half-Orc Ranger with a Wolf Companion named Dio

Just to clarify, no race builder = no tengu, correct? Because I have a tengu Ranger (Infiltrator) that, with either the Vagabond Child or Trap Finder trait, could fill your need for a skilled martial character that can do traps, tracks, and even some light spells.

If tengu is out, then perhaps a human Fighter (Lore Warden) 2/Oracle of Battle (Warsighted) 4 with either of the aforementioned traits. This one won't be quite as useful tracking or finding traps, however, since Wisdom is a dump stat. It's also reliant on two selections of Strange Revelation, a 3pp feat for oracles.

Cool, I've done book one before but never past that. I also started a character in a RotRL anniversary game that never quite got off the ground.

I'd like to submit that character and just level her up to 6th. How would you feel about a Shield Champion Brawler? I'll have a good number of skills and should be pretty versatile in combat with Martial Flexibility.

I do lose Brawler's Strike, though--how do you feel about me enchanting a shield as a weapon?

I have a dwarven ranger designed for Rise of the Runelords that I will level to 6th and post up here as soon as I can.

Interesting concept. Submit the character and he will be considered.

No to Unchained. No particular role in combat. The Fighter and Cleric look to be front line hit'em till they drop characters, with some flair.

While I am not fond of the Unchained classes, the VMC has always interested me, so submit a character and it will be considered.

It looks like Tengu is right out of Bestiary 1, so using the stats for Tengu Characters would be ok (LINK and to to the bottom)

Cool concept, and yes a shield can be enchanted as a weapon. Submit a character and it will be considered.

Nifty. Does that mean that tengu racial traits and feats from ARG are permitted? (His hook is being all the tengu that he can be, by learning to use his wings and beak effectively, then mastering tengu transformation, and throwing it all together with the Natural Weapon Combat Style.)

And further reading indicates that Trap Finder is actually a campaign trait from another AP. Would that make it ineligible for selection?

Any comments on my submission?

Here is a character I developed for a DM-original campaign a while back that died out quickly. I think I could respec him very easily to fit the needs of the party. Let me know if the fluff works for your direction.

Sovereign Court

Does your group use Background Skills?

Adding a character at the last minute under the torrent of interested players. Throsha here is locked and loaded, ready to go. Apologies for the bullet-point background, I don't have a full write-up on hand. I'll be working on that in the next 24 hours or so.

This is JAF0 here...

Azrael is my submission for the game... still working out a few kinks and have to spend a little more money, but otherwise pretty much complete... hope you like.

Question for the GM before I do equipment, are magical tattoo's ok in your game?

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

Are you using background skills from Pathfinder Unchained? Basically two additional skill ranks every level but they can only be put in certain skills.

Also, are Pathfinder Society chronicle sheets for campaign mode going to be available?

It is interesting and complete. Will be considered.

To All:
If I do not make comments on your completed submission, consider that the submission will be considered. I generally only comment if there is something that I do not understand, or am not comfortable with, or there is a direct question.

I am swamped today and tomorrow with my part time job at the hospital this afternoon and a *%^&%&*&* staff meeting tomorrow (every 2nd Tuesday of the month), however I will work on getting a list of characters with class(es) posted by Wednesday afternoon.

Background skills: No (no one else has them).
Magical Tattoos: No
PFS chronicle sheets: No

Also for those that are submitting a multi-class character, I would like to know classes going forward.

For instance (and I don't think I have seen this yet), if someone submitted a Ranger / Rogue multi-class that was Ra 3 / Ro 3, how would you be leveling the character in the future? All Ranger, All Rogue, Some combination?

thanks,

-- david

Azrael will be going all paladin from 7th level and onward. Please let me know if you'd like to see any changes (anything that doesn't fit your game for example).

@All: Someone PM'd me about why no PFS Chronicles. To stave off other questions about this, I'll just answer here.

Most Importantly, I do not understand the rules, restrictions, etc. for PFS play, and have so many questions on them that it would be a large chore for me to learn them all and enforce them.

For example:
1) Are you Core or "Standard"? Do the others in the campaign have to be Core or Standard?
2) Does everyone else have to play by the same rules for PFS or just your character?
3) How am I supposed to get you your sheets?
4) Where are the blank sheets (Chronicle, Inventory, other????)?
5) Do I have to generate an event? How do I do that?
6) Do I then have to fill in said event? How do I do that?
and the list would go on from here.

While I appreciate that some folks would like this, and I do understand that some folks are very interested in this; if you wish to have PFS Chronicles, I am just not your guy.

I plan on taking at least one more level of Cleric so I can get access to 2nd level magic. I MIGHT level to get 3rd level magic if I get accepted and make it that far. Otherwise, it's going to be a full focus on Rogue.

Plan for multiclassing would be mostly Alchemist (2/3 or 3/4) with the rest Rogue (1/3 or 1/4). But you know how plans are, they rarely survive contact with the game. :) Depending on how the game goes, there might be a level dip or two into some more martial class (fighter, slayer, etc) for HP and BAB, depending on how the game unfolds and Sanita handles melee combat.

Bummed about the tattoo's, but oh well..
