Oh wells. Have fun all.

No interest in any of the other campaign options using the same submission?

Storyteller Shadow wrote:

As for the rest of you...this was a tough decision, I really liked every submission but I wanted to keep this to a 4 player game.

BUT. I am willing to extend an olive branch based on your work on these interesting concepts.

Clever Godling -
Mordred of Fairy - Human - (Ran of Many Faces).

Adept Godling -
Anon A Mouse - Human (Granite Ward).

Eldritch Godling -
William Nightmoon - Kitsune (Medis Redflame) - Submission complete.

I have recruited one (or two depending on what you pick) other players to play in another campaign but I can't decide which one so I'll let you all decide:

Age of Worms,
Shackled City,
Savage Tide,
Shattered Star, or
Iron Gods.

Reposting... stupid top of the page...

Please report to this thread that I may properly outfit you in your straight jackets...

Yet another repost.

Thank you for the pick, it must not of been easy. Good luck to everyone else.

Best of luck to you guys("A Kobold, a Grippli, and a Goblin walk in on a Dwarf..." - sounds like the beginning of a fun story ;) ).

@Regarding your suggestion of re-using things: I like to take advantage of the unique nature offered by AP's to explore character concepts tailored to them, or impossible to pull off otherwise.

e.g. if I remember correctly, Iron Gods would allow an Android Gunslinger to feel right at home. Not a concept workable in many other AP's without stretching things.

Ran was intended to play up on the Amnesia, trying to make that an essential part of the character with his fractured self-image and web of lies...(e.g. someone hurt? "Don't worry, I'm a trained doctor!" - rolls 1 on untrained healing check - "There was nothing anybody could have done to save him!" - Roll 20 on bluff)

While it would be very interesting to explore his concept idea in a game, he was mostly created for Strange Aeons, and would work just as well in the form of a straight Unchained Rogue with a 1-Level Dip in Oracle(+extra Revelation) - losing out on quite a bit of fancyness, but ces't la vie - if that's what it takes to validate him for another recruitment.

What I am saying: I had hoped to get into Strange Aeons, but I'll gladly play in one of the others, too. But if so, I would like a chance to do a tailored concept based on whichever AP ends up choosen.

That said, I already play in an Age-of-Worms game, and try to limit myself to 1 game per AP, the other 4 are fine by me.

Oh, I completely missed there were other game options. I think what happened was that I posted right after the first post and since my post ended up on the next page, I never saw the second one.

I am tentatively interested in one of the other games, but I know next to nothing about most of them, so let me do some googling and get back to you in a bit.

Sure you don't have to use that submission I just figured since that one was already almost done it would be easier for you to just use it elsewhere.

It was a little hard to get an impression of some of APs mentioned, so I guess I don't have much of a strong opinion on them. I think I'd prefer not Iron Gods though as I would prefer to play Granite and I think I'd want to make a new, tech-based character for that game.

I have a character idea that im applying with in a few games. :P so i dont really have a preference

Goblin Silver Champion Paladin

Ya'll just busy or no interest in an alternate AP? :-)

Im up and about

Iron gods is pretty good (just started book 4), I was surprised by it since I usually dislike things that mix tech and magic in "medieval" settings.

If you don't get a lot of response, I potentially have a group from Iron Gods that lost its GM a few months ago. I've been holding out hope he'd show up as he's also a player in another game of mine, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I imagine that not everyone is going to want to continue at this point, so any stragglers could potentially join us where we left off. I understand if you aren't interested, but I figured I'd throw it out there. Mark MIGHT show up after the holidays (maybe), but it's beginning to look pretty grim.

Is this other ap campaign going to godling as well? If not I'll play one. I don't know anything about them, so no preference, save that if savage tide is another sailing game I'd rather avoid it.

Storyteller Shadow wrote:

I'm still around, though as stated I have no strong preference for an AP other than maybe not Iron Gods.

Shattered Staris the game. I'll run it Godling though Godlings will not be required.

Anon A Mouse.
William Nightmoon.
Mordred of Fairy.

You are all in. I have already recruited 2 other people (I think).

Kindo and the AlicornSage make 7. Congrats good timing you are in.

I'll give everyone 10 days to make characters or you can use the ones submitted to Strange Aeons.

This game will start the first or second weekend of January.

If Shattered Star is a no go let's see what happens in the New Year JD.

Hey Shadow, would you ever consider running a Kingmaker game that started mid-level, but at the beginning?

I just read about the Hinterlander PrC from Paths of the Righteous and I feel it would be awesome for a KM game, but I would rather start with a level or two in it(or come close to entering it), as many pbp take forever to reach the appropriate levels for PrCs, especially APs.

Hey, just because you never replied to me ...

A have a character called Kindo... referring to me or anoher kindo?

Hah, yep you. I sprained my ankle Monday so my mind is a little off...

Not sure that particular AP seems complex in its own right. Maybe once some of my other APS wind down.

Sorry, where do i see the gen rules for the AP?

Seth86 wrote:

Use the same rules for the Strange Aeon Recruitment on the last page, nevermind I'll repost below...

Shattered Star

Pathfinder rules.
25 Point Buy.
Start at 1st Level.

Max Gold x2.

Classes any including Godling.

Races any.

Background Skills will be used.
Take Two Traits and One Drawback.

I'll read up on Shattered Star before making a decision on wether to alter my Strange Aeon Submission or go with something new.
Thanks.
(You already know i'll take my sweet time before presenting the finalized character...but that won't make a difference here because it's a pre-set group anyway)
Basically, just posting to confirm my participation.

Anumus

If you would allow this, i would to make a mighty Godling, Scion of Anubis

Seth86 wrote:

ok.

Sweets.

Hmm, any race. I might just test this, depending on what the player guide says. (I like odd races. I've even got a masterless familiar hanging around.)

Ok, question for my future party-mates: would anybody benefit from Enlarge Person or Mage Armor? Since I plan for Granite's magic to be buff focused, it'd be good to know what kind of buffs would actually be useful.

For build, I'm pretty much going to be sticking with what I have for Granite (Adept godling), just need to make a few changes to match Shattered Star instead of Strange Aeons.

@Granite: For what it's worth - I may benefit from Enlarge Person. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I am pretty much certain I will be human for the Favored Class Bonus, if I go Godling. And with how often one gets to play a Godling, chances are pretty good I'll simply adapt Ran to the new environment.
Wearing Armor myself, Mage Armor would not be relevant.

No, that was aimed at Monkeygod.

Well, other than some minor tweaking once our party composition is a bit more clear (namely spells and I can also have him put ranks in disable device if needed), Granite is pretty much done.

The other two players are out so that leaves 5 of you. That is a fine group size.

Question. Are godlings OP vs normal classes?

Seth86 wrote:

OP as in overpowered? Yes.

Would a gestalt be somewhat equal or still fall behind?

Seth86 wrote:

Not sure to be honest, probably still a bit behind I suppose.

Reason im asking is because i have an gestalt idea for a gunslinger/rogue goblin. Aaaand. It would be easier to keep track since i can actually use herolab :P
But my anubian scion is still up to the task if you think it wont work =^^=

Let me take a look at the adventure and get back to you on that one, don't want a Goblin to have issues just based on what he is!

All good. And i appreciate the effort from you as GM =^^=

Soooo...about that Godling/Unchained Rogue Gestalt... ^_^
*ducks*
(actually just checked back to see if we do have gold to spend this time around - and we do, plenty.)

A more serious question: Is retraining allowed?
I specifically ask because I would like to pick up a Feat at Level 11 that requires a BaB of 11, rather than wait until Level 13 for the next Feat.
Unlimited potential would let me do so, but be pointless otherwise.
What would be your preferred handling in this situation?
Can I delay the Feat-Pick to Level 12? Could I retrain Unlimited Potential? Should I simply accept that I will need to wait for Level 13 to pick it up?
(Specifically, it is about Spring-Heeled Reaping...which is a core concept of the character progression. Therefore, I would like to get the most mileage out of it that I can...with regular AP's ending at ~Level 16-17, getting it at Level 13 would seriously limit the effective time I get to use it). As such, I would rather sacrifice Scion of the North Wind to pick up Unlimited potential, but it does feel like a waste.)

Alright then, everyone take a free first level feat... thank Mordred everyone!

FYI, you should ALL include in your background (brief or as long as you like them) that you are new members of the Pathfinder Society.

I don't think a Goblin would fit, sorry Seth. If you want to use that Gestalt idea with a more common race that would be fine.

Thank you Mordred!

Okay, given that I know nothing of godlings, just how much more powerful are they?

I'm thinking a monk/(hunter or sorcerer), whether multiclass or gestalt. (I'd go druid but I don't do prepared casting)

Example Eldritch Godlings

Great saves. Great Specials.

I suppose Gestalt base classes would even that out...

Errr, don't Eldritch Godlings have all bad saves? My understanding is that the main broken thing about them is that spellcasters pick their spellcasting ability, so apparently a common thing to do is to go for Str or Con and then you can polymorph to bump up your DCs to crazy levels. You also don't have to worry about concentration or armor check failures plus you can pick your spell list. You can also get a bunch of features from individual other classes like oracle mysteries or witch hexes.
