Spell holder magic item

Advice

So I have PCs who want be able to more quickly get a bunch of buffs.

They would like a gem then can cast multiple buffs into then activate later as standard action.

The spell slot is occupied until the spell is released from the gem and fades after 24 hours. (The do not want more spells, just to turn them on faster)

No personal spells

Spells effect only the holder of the gem even if the original spell could effect an area or more then one target.

An example would be a gem that could hold 6 levels of spells of up to 3rd level.

The casters in the group fill it with Haste, enlarge person, and bull's strength and then give it to the fighter.

Several hours later the party encounters a dragon that breaths on the PCs and downs the casters. The fighter spends a round and now gains the benefit of all 3 spells as if they were just cast.

It would encourage caster to "go nova". But I don't really see much of a problem - until the party encounters an enemy using one.

If you're asking what this would usually cost, take a look at the ring of spell storing and then multiply it by a lot for the one action to get 3 buff spells, less some for the restrictions. At least 300K gold for what you've described I think? Maybe more.

By the time you could afford this it should be OK IMO. If you're looking at giving it to them for cheap or free, it's pretty unbalanced.

The Exchange

Quicken magic is for this. Or the leadership feat (caster cohort)

Take the meta magic feat and/or the meta magic rods (expensive).

Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Pathfinder Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

As mentioned, a rod of minor quicken metamagic rod is 35,000 gp.

Alternately, an alchemist (or investigator) with the Infusion and Combine Extracts discoveries can pass out buff "potions" that grant the effects of two different extracts with one "activation." Also, an admixture vial is 5,000gp if the alchemist wants to save on higher-level extract slots (or if the PCs are less than 8th-9th level).

3.0 had something like this:
5th: Simbul's Spell Matrix
7th: Simbul's Spell Sequencer
9th: Simbul's Spell Trigger

This might be a good place to start for comparisons.

Remember, in PF, action economy is king. Letting the players have this is empowering them big time. Your call.
