The Gold Baron: Bourgeoisie Vigilante

Advice

This is an inside joke roughly twenty-five people in the world will get, but I'll try to convey its purpose, because I am very new to the vigilante and need some help building it up for a fairly humorous game we're playing this Saturday.

Basically, the game is set in modern Earth (so no magic, humans only). The Gold Baron is a billionaire CEO who, by night, sets out to rob from the poor and give to himself. He leaves a copper piece on the bodies of each of his victims. Payday is marked as a day of fear for his employees, as it's the day they always get attacked.

The Gold Baron wears a large amount of gold equipment and hates the poor—if magic was available, he would probably have a Channel that harmed them in particular.

Any ideas on where to start?

Liberty's Edge

Uh...that's a thematic concept, not really a mechanical one. It lacks mechanical stuff entirely, in fact. Specifically, what you want the Gold Baron's capabilities to be.

Without knowing what you want him to be able to do...I really have no idea how to help you beyond saying 'Yeah, Vigilante totally works for that.'

So...that's what I've got. I mean...you could make him mechanically a thug and go Avenger, do some very Intimidate focused stuff as a Stalker with Twisting Fear, go either Str or Dex based and whatever weapons you want...I'm really just not sure what you're aiming for. I guess if you want to do unarmed combat Avenger has an easier time of it...

And, for the record, I got the joke. :)

For the CEO side, Social Graces in Profession (CEO) plus Double Time, then either focus on the Renown chain or things like Innocence. The Detect Disobedience trait is very thematic. Celebrity Perks could be fluffed as petty theft from the poor while in his social ID, and he can't sell the stuff because he might get caught.

Stalker gets more sneaky options, so go with that. Gold weapons and armor are useless, though.

I'm also considering a multiclass into Noble Scion for this, just for extra cash-related powers.

I'm still musing it over. I might go with another concept. The vigilante is very unfamiliar to me, after all.

Logan did a character portrait for this character, which is up in the office somewhere. I'll see if I can get a picture of it up somewhere linkable.

I have the picture up on my Mark Seifter, Game Designer Facebook page because that seems like a good place to host a picture!
