Weapon or Armor?

Advice

I'm looking for some advice.
I currently have just over 5k gold saved up and looking to buy some equipment and can't decide, My character is a flank buddy ninja for a barbarian, so while I'm not the primary damage, I am expected to do some stuff for the team. We are about to hit level 4

The first option is a +1 adamantine short spear. It would not only set me up for adding on merciful for some extra damage but also adds the potential path of sundering armor and stuff to further help the team.

The second option is a +1 mithril breastplate. This would raise my ac from 21 to 23 and lower my ACP by 1. While its not as exciting as the spear, I am usually taking 1-2 attacks a round and not being hit is pretty cool.

The third option is boots of striding and springing. Letting me move 50-70 feet a round and increasing my acrobatics, which help me get into awesome flanking positions without an obscene amount of AoOs

If you have any other options I'd love to hear them...

EDIT...
in case you are questioning me adding enchantments on later to armor my table uses the PFS rules where you only have to pay the difference instead of extra

What gear do you already have? Any feats or racial abilities that factor into this decision making?

I currently only have a simple short spear and cold iron dagger for damage, my armor consists of a chain shirt and a mithril shield.

I have belt of tumbling and some traits to help with acrobatics as well as dodge and mobility to help against AoOs

Personally, I would go multiple, cheaper items. Enchant the shield to +1, get +1 chain shirt and shortspear. You get 2 more ac and boost your offense.

True, the difference between moving up to masterwork and moving up to +1 is just the 1 damage. And the price is enough of a 'drop in the bucket' that you can later just toss it and grab the magical adamantine. Adamanatine probably won't do too much good at that level- I mean, how many golems and the like are you facing? It is more something to grab later when you can say "well, I can't buy anyhting better with ONLY a few thousand gold"

So going for a full character upgrade with various cheap items seems like a better approach then going for just the 1 point of damage and the vague advantages of adamantine.

i can get aboard this plan...

Just checking: you've got medium armor proficiency for the mithral breastplate, right? If not, definitely skip.

Boots of Striding and Springing only provide a bonus to jumping with Acrobatics. Perhaps Boots of Elvenkind instead?

You could go:
+1 Armor: 1000 + Mstwk?
+1 Shield: 1000
Elf Boots: 2500
Mstwk Cold Iron Dagger: 304

What Ninja tricks did you go with?

yeah, i am currently barbarian 1 (fast movement and early improved uncanny dodge) ninja 2 with acrobatic master for those pesky four legged creatures...

Ill think over the boot options, i really like the movement speed boost of s+s but the flat acrobatics bonus is nice too :/

Edit: would the boots of elvenkind even stack with my belt of tumbling? because they are both competence bonuses...

Then I'd hold off on +1 Armor
+1 Shield: 1000
Elf Boots: 2500
Mwk Shortspear + Scabbard of Vigor|?: 2150
Mwk Cold Iron Dagger: 304

You mentioned rapidly moving into place, and making a Sneak Attack? Since you can draw a weapon as part of that move, you can draw the Shortspear as a +4 Weapon once per a day. With that, Rage, and Flanking (+8 in temp bonuses), you should have a fairly good chance of hitting anything you come up against.

EDIT Missed that there was a Belt of Tumbling involved. Definitely not then.

You can NEVER go wrong when purchasing any level Cloak of Resistance.

Get the cloak and a +1 weapon or armor, save the leftovers for the next purchase.
