So as I understand it this is the only way to get to level 20. Correct?
And since it has a tier for every level there is no way to GM it, and hold it for a character. So if you have any desire to hit level 20 you should avoid playing OR GMing this like the plague until 19.2. Right?
You can GM it as much as you want before then, just don't take GM credit until the 19.2 run. You're never forced to take GM credit.

I'd seriously advise against playing this at 19th level. The scaling for 12+ doesn't work very well, and IMO the bragging rights of having a 20th level character (that you'll probably never get to play) aren't worth the disappointing play experience that you'll have with Race to the Runecarved Key at that high of a level.

The only problem with getting a 20th level character is that you never get to actually play with the character at 20th level in PFS. For certain characters they get some cool abilities at level 20 that are essentially moot in PFS.
You can play your 20th level character for no credit to make a table of Race for the Runecarved Key fire.

I don't care about bragging rights, and I know I won't get to play the character. Its really just about two things in my mind: 1) Playing as many sessions as possible with the character, and 2) because I have a completionist need to do it. I appreciate the input though. In your opinion is the scaled up version actually appropriate for any of the 15 + tiers? I was just going to GM it Core since I don't really have any plans to play Core and it wouldn't disrupt anything, but I may use Joe's suggestion which I hadn't really thought about. Jack thanks for letting me know about that, but I kind of doubt I'll reach 19.2 this year(possible though). Plus there's no way I'd be able to get out there.
