I don't want to take con damage con damage from my own abilities

Burn is not Con damage, and you don't ever have to take any if you don't want to.

Technically, it is Non lethal damage that doesn't all heal till the next day. But yeah, it isn't fun fact.

The class uses the burn as a spell/day mechanics (can only use so much burn/day).

It's not Con Damage.

And it's not as bad as you think. As you rise in level, taking Burn gains you Con, which mitigates your losses and it adds to your offense a bunch.

And you can arrange to take almost none 90% of the time plus with inherent class abilities.

In short, it's very worth it, and doesn't need to be used very often.

Still it's another thing to have to keep track of, and I'm planning on using the character in melee
Aaaand the DPS of the class is lacking, when they're almost entirely a DPS class...
Is there any way for this class to get fire immunity? Or even a significant amount of resistance?

Question: does having natural regeneration (in this case bypassed by cold iron) fix this damage?

Either way, could someone please propose abilities for the dead levels at 7, 9, 11, 13 & 14?

Dotting to get above the spam bots.

Shadow Lodge

Just to be clear I mean the dead levels of the class I linked

Not a problem. Let's say you start with Con 16 (a bit low for a Pyrokineticist). By, oh, 12th level, you're taking 5 Burn to power up, and thus reducing Con mod by 5 for HP...except not really. Because you put your level ups into Con, bought a Belt of Con (it's not like you needed a weapon), and the Burn itself gives you +4 Con.

So, your Con is likely to be in the vicinity of 26, meaning that even with 5 Burn, we're talking Con 16 for practical purposes. That's plenty for melee.

Your Con won't be as ridiculous at lower levels, but you also won't be taking nearly as much Burn. It works out.

Uh...firstly, it's not almost entirely a DPR class, though fire is closer than the rest, secondly, the damage is pretty respectable (much more so on fire), and the melee damage in particular is actually really high, since you can Full Attack with a fire-blade doing a crapload of D6 damage.

At 12th again, assuming Haste, your fire blade can attack for a conservative +17/+17/+12 vs. touch AC for 6d6+16 each. That's...ugly. It does come up against spell resistance, and has a few other limitations, but it's nasty and effective. You can also have 10 or 15 foot reach and abuse Combat Reflexes.

It's not a weak class for damage if built for it.

You can get moderate Fire Resistance (equal to twice your Burn) starting at 1st level. That's sadly the only option for this.

It does not. Nothing does. Quite intentionally.
