And you can, in theory slashing grace the melee spell bolt too, I think.

Wait, what? Are you talking about the warlock's mystic bolt ability? Because you can certainly use it with Weapon Finesse, but since mystic bolt isn't a slashing weapon, it's not a valid choice for Slashing Grace.

Even then it wouldn't work since you have to be able to add your Strength modifier to the damage to allow you to replace it with your Dex mod. Same reason why you can't use Slashing Grace or Finesse Training with an elemental annihilator's devastating infusion attacks.

But otherwise, I am still pro-Unchained Eldritch Scoundrel :)

Chaining the scoundrel seems silly. Here's another vote for unchaining it!

Hmm

I did say 'in theory'... I'd not looked at it in depth. :-)

Hmmm.. forgotten ninja trick with all your second level spells

We could probably unchain the ninja, too.

Just sayin'.

They want the unchained rogue to exist, so the unchained ninja can't

The unchained ninja can't, so the unchained Eldritch scoundrel can't, because it makes a better unchained ninja than the unchained ninja.

The unchained ninja can't, so the unchained Eldritch scoundrel can't, because it makes a better untrained ninja than the unchained ninja.

Trained ninjas don't count as untrained ninjas, I guess?

Little to add that hasn't already been said, but I'm with the "allow the archetype for unchained rogue" crowd.

Trained ninjas can attempt ninjitsu checks?

Resurrecting a not-too-undead thread...

>>>This feels like something a Campaign Clarification could fix in about a paragraph or two with a slight nerf rather than the nerf bat of Core Rogue.<<<

Did the PFS staff ever make a statement (verbal, blog, whatever) as to the reasoning?

Thanks,

No they don't post their reasoning for why they don't allow something, also they've shown that they don't really change things in clarifications to make it PFS compatible. That concept gets suggested a lot for archetypes that don't make it in, yet they don't post things in clarifications to make it legal.
