Throwing a Gnome

Rules Questions

If I have a Ogre who has 29 strength, and has issues with gnomes in which he crushes them and then throws them at his enemies. If a gnome weights about 35 pounds how far can I throw it and how much damage?

The half-ball special! Well kinda, with a gnome now.

The rules do not explicitly cover this. You will have to houserule in a solution.

Well, it is an improvised ranged weapon. You get a -4 to hit and it has a range increment of 10'. As for damage, it would have to be guessed, but I would say 1d4, possibly 1d6 or so. A gnome is not a good weapon. If you take Throw Anything, you lose the penalty to hit. Sadly, even though gnome has gnome in the name, gnomes do not count as proficient with throwing gnomes.

Mmmh... I think you also have to ace a grab on the gnome you want to throw or else you can't throw it... ;)

Body Bludgeon (Ex): While raging, if the barbarian pins an opponent that is smaller than her, she can then use that opponent as a two-handed improvised weapon that deals 1d8 points of bludgeoning damage, assuming the opponent is sized Small. Larger or smaller creatures used as a bludgeon deal damage based on their size using this base damage. A size Tiny creature deals 1d6 points of damage, a size Medium creature deals 1d10 points of damage, and so on. The barbarian can make a single attack using the pinned opponent as part of the action she uses to maintain the grapple, using her highest attack bonus. Whenever the barbarian hits using the pinned opponent as a weapon, she deals damage to her target normally, and the grappled opponent used as a bludgeon also takes the same damage she dealt to the target. If the pinned opponent is unable to resist being pinned for any reason, the barbarian can use that opponent as an improvised weapon without grappling or pinning the opponent, until the creature is reduced to 0 or fewer hit points, at which point the creature becomes useless as an improvised weapon. A barbarian must be at least 10th level before selecting this rage power.

Throw Anything (Combat)

You are used to throwing things you have on hand.

Benefit: You do not suffer any penalties for using an improvised ranged weapon. You receive a +1 circumstance bonus on attack rolls made with thrown splash weapons.
Normal: You take a –4 penalty on attack rolls made with an improvised weapon.

Two-Handed Thrower (Combat)

You hurl weapons with both hands and with great force, sometimes using a whirling technique to send your weapon flying through the air at tremendous speeds.

Prerequisite: Str 15.
Benefit: Whenever you use two hands to throw a one-handed or two-handed weapon, you gain a bonus on damage rolls equal to 1-1/2 times your Strength bonus. Using two hands to throw any weapon requires only a standard action for you. If you also have the Quick Draw feat, you can throw two-handed weapons at your full normal rate of attacks.
Normal: You add your Strength bonus on thrown weapon damage, regardless of available hands. Throwing a two-handed weapon is a full-round action.

There you go. There's how you do it. 10 levels of Barbarian and 2 feats, but you have to grapple, then pin, then throw. If the gnomes are already dead or are willing, you can forego the grapple/pin part.

Thanks everybody. Great ideas.
