Shipping for Humble Bundle Pathfinder Beginner Box

I paid the required amount to qualify for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box (OGL) offered through the Humble Bundle.

The charge for the Humble Bundle pdf downloads was processed and the downloads are listed in the My Downloads section of my account page. They are not downloading yet because of all of the traffic, so I will continue to wait to give the traffic time to thin out.

When I redeemed the key for the physical Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box (OGL) I was asked to pay the shipping fee of $12.87, shipped within the USA. The payment information was taken and those three boxes on the shipping payment page all turned green.

However, I have not received any confirmation communication that the order is or was being processed. There is nothing on the my Order History section of my account and there have been no email communications confirming the receipt of the shipping charge. A message stating "There are no orders in your order history" is displayed. There are no reference numbers regarding Paizo that I can use to check the order, just the confirmation email from Humble Bundle that the downloads are available (which are not actually available because of the traffic).

Is there anyway I can get a confirmation that my order of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Beginner Box (OGL) has or is in fact being processed?


I guess it is not the Beginner Box (OGL) but is instead the Beginner Box (Physical Copy) that I am asking about, if there is a difference. I would like to know if the shipping has actually been processed and when I might be receiving the Begginer Box (Physical Copy).

I have finally been able to download some of the Pathfinder pdfs and have looked them over. Interesting stuff.


I'm having the same issue, with the added note that multiple instances of the shipping charge (since I tried a few times) are showing up as pending in my bank account.

While I'm content to wait for the downloads until things settle, I want to get my Box order in soon so I don't have to wait for you to restock.

I just took a look at it and all of the information was there, it looks like it was just waiting to be submitted. I went ahead and submitted it for you and you will be receiving an email confirmation. Please look it over and let me know if any changes need to be made.

The demand for the Humble Bundle was quite a bit larger than we anticipated. We have sold down on the Beginner Box and have ordered a reprint. We expect to be have received these and begin shipping them out in May. You will not be charged for the shipping until it ships out, though you may see an authorization right now, which will disappear in a few business days depending on your bank.

Hello Zilnaenor,

Your card is being declined because it is failing the address verification system. Usually this happens when the billing address on the card does not match what the bank has on file. What you are seeing are not charges, they are authorizations. Each time an attempt to submit the order is made the bank gets pinged to make sure the card is valid. When this happens most banks will put a temporary hold of the funds. This can look like a pending transaction on your end. Because the card was declined these authorizations cannot be finalized. If not finalized authorizations will expire and the holds will be released after a few business days. How long that takes is entirely up to the bank and not something we can control.

I have submitted authorization request reversals for each attempt. These let the bank know we cannot finalize the authorizations and they can release them. Again, it is ultimately up to them when they do though.

We have currently sold down on the boxes we have and are now waiting for the reprint. We expect to be shipping the rest of the orders in May.

The information in the email looks correct and there is a pending transaction listed on the statement for the card that was used to pay for the shipping of the Beginners Box(Physical Copy).

Looks like a bit of a wait until the new printing is completed and shipped. Until then I will continue to explore the PDFs that have be downloaded. As stated before, interesting stuff.

I do want to give you a heads up that what you are seeing is an authorization, not a charge. It will disappear in a few business days depending on your bank. We don't charge for anything until the order ships. So on your end it will look like a pending transaction until your bank releases it, then it will look like it was never there. When the order ships we will charge the card and it will appear on your statement again, only this time it will finalize.

Your order was just not submitted. All the information was there it just needed to have the submit button pushed. I got it submitted for you and sent you an email confirmation. Please look it over and let me know if any changes need to be made. As with the others, we have an estimated shipping time of May for your order. You will also see an authorization that looks like a pending transaction and will disappear in a few business days. The charge will go through when the order ships.


Perhaps an update to the FAQ with that May date? I have a "Pending" order status, and thanks for posting the info about when it may ship, but it wasn't as 'up front' as, IMO, it should have been.

Glad the bundle is doing so well, info about the physical portion as well as the site bogging would be cool.

Well, this is a bit disheartening. I expected the shipping charge to be taken immediately when I applied for it. I *had* the money on the card when I made the order. I do not have the shipping fee on there now, and I may not when the order is finally ready to be shipped. So now I may not receive the package, or may have it delayed because the charge could go through at any random time, at which I may or may not have the money on the card. *sigh*

I understand the high demand dilemma, but this is still unfortunate for me.

Unless... of course... that authorization holds those funds until finalized?


This may also be a problem for me as I will be changing banks next month (moving permanently to Portland OR.) and will not be using the debit card on file after that point which will delay me getting my box even longer.

Hi all,

To address the last couple of points: The May date is still currently an estimate, so we don't have a more precise timeline for the backordered Beginner Boxes at the moment. Hopefully once it gets narrowed down a bit we will be able to update it, but our best guess right now is 6 - 8 weeks to receive our reprint.

For those who are concerned about the authorizations expiring for shipping, one idea would be to purchase a gift certificate for the amount of shipping, and then have that set as the payment method for your Beginner Box order. That way we can finalize the charges on your card when the funds are available and essentially have them pending to be used for that specific order.

Thank you. I've finally gotten it to accept my card.

The issue I was having is that every time I turned around, the site had deleted some of my information, and I didn't catch all of it till just now. In addition, I only received a notification that my card was not accepted once out of the five times this occurred. Every other time it just sat there as if I hadn't hit 'submit'.

The process I just used was:
enter payment info (name, card number),
add billing address,
re-add 50% of address info that was erased by USPS conformity (my middle name and phone number),
re-add payment info that was erased by address add.

While the USPS check is important for shipping addresses, it is counter-productive for billing addresses, especially given that it deletes information that has no bearing on USPS.

I know the Humble Bundle was overwhelmingly more popular than expected, and I am very glad of that. Once it all calms down, I hope this inspires you to work on some of the less crucial problems with the site.

I returned to the site to check up on my order because the payment authorization is ending today. I've read the above posts and it seems to me that the Money will be charged once the order is filled, which currently has a preliminary estimate of May '16.

Could one of you Lovely customer service reps confirm that Everything is as should be with my order and payment, and that I just need to wait and make sure I have the 500 or so kronors available on my account when the charge hits?

Hi there! I'm having the same issue with my Humble Bundle Beginner's Box as few people above have declared. After the redeeming I accepted the delivery costs with my PayPal account, but there's no pending order on my Paizo account. I took a look at your order and everything looks good on it. I don't see any issues. It is waiting for the reprint like some of the others above. Our current estimate for when those should be shipping out is early May.

If the authorization expires we will open a new one and finalize it immediately when we ship the order. On you end you may be able to see it on your account now, where it may look like a pending transaction. When it expires it will disappear and your balance will look like it was never there.

I have checked on your order and it doesn’t look like it was submitted all the way. You should be able to get back to the order to finish submitting it here: https://secure.paizo.com/humblebundle

On the confirmation step, there is a “Place Your Order” button that people sometimes miss. Once it is submitted successfully, you should get an order confirmation email and it will show up on your Order History page.

We sent an update out about these April 21st (but the system could only send it to ones that had been submitted). Here’s a copy of that email:

According to my last authorization email, my Humble Bundle Box is included in my June subscription shipment, due out Real Soon Now™. :-) I suppose they're getting the box out to subscribers first, but I don't know. If so, if you're not a subscriber, it may be a little while longer. If you are a subscriber, you probably should check your authorization email.

I took a look into your account, and it seems that your order for the Beginner Box was not fully submitted. I attempted to submit the order for you, but the payment method was declined because of insufficient funds.

If you'd like to finish submitting the order on your end once the payment issues are worked out, you should be able to do so by going to the Humble Bundle Redemptions page on your account, and scroll just below the codes you redeemed. You should see the order waiting to be completed. Go through the steps 1 - 3, and hit the "Place Your Order" button on the last step when you're ready. That should submit the order and send you an automatic confirmation email.

If you have any problems with that page, just let me know and I'll be glad to try to submit it again from my end. Otherwise, please don't hesitate to ask if there are any further questions or concerns that you may have in the meantime.

Please wait a minute before trying again."

And, of course, I haven't been there.

If you could try to process it again, the other issue should be resolved.

And, of course, I haven't been there.

If you could try to process it again, the other issue should be resolved.

I was able to put the order the rest of the way through on my end, and it does look like the payment method issue was all sorted out. Your order is now pending, and it should be all ready to go once our warehouse reaches it in the shipping queue. Because of the volume of Beginner Box orders that we are currently shipping out, we don't have a way to estimate whereabouts you may be in the queue, but we are estimating that they will be finished shipping late next month.

Please note that we do not actually charge for your order until it ships out, so if you see something that looks like a charge on your account, it is most likely just a temporary authorization. Hi there,

It looks like your order was sent out on 6/29, and you should have received a confirmation email once it was processed for shipping. According to what I can see, your order went out via USPS Priority and should take 6 - 10 business days to reach you. I would leave a couple of extra days just in case there are delays, but it sounds like it shouldn't be too long before it gets to you.

I Do not see my beginner box in my order history nor did i get an email. After reading some of the top posts i think It just needs to be submitted but i can not find where to do that.

Looks like it was successfully submitted and you should have received a confirmation email when it went through. Once our warehouse has processed it for shipping, you should receive a confirmation email to let you know that it's on the way.
