So this is just a geewiz question and was curious about something. Me and my wife are playing in the Hell's Rebels Adventure Path Ran by my friend. She is playing a Human HydroKineticist and I am a Strix WitchDoctor. The story is that I was taken as Egg/Baby (Which is to be determined because we don't know hwo they are born) by the mayor of Kintargo a long time ago I was wingclipped and raised as a surrogate family member of the mayor's so i took the alternate racial trait that does not have me hate humans (Cautious Brawler) as I grew up which was fast becasue of the Strix racial aging I became friends with a local shop worker who was continually bullied by people (My Wife's Human Kineticist) I stood up for her. So Our goal in this campaign is to find the mayor who goes missing because she is like a mother to me and My wife's goal is to follow me in what ever I do. So romance is gonna blossom during the campaign and we were wondering if our two characters could have kids. We always joked and said they would be like little black cupids lol. If anyone knows if that is a yes or no I would like to hear. I would also like to here any suggestions or ideas.

Probably not, buuuuuuuuut

setting spoilers about strix:
If I'm not mistaken, Strix were created by Syrinx in Arcadia as slave race by modifying humans anyway, so maybe it might be possible if modification isn't that through? Of course I could be wrong and Strix might just be human-like race(like the core races... What, you can't claim elves and dwarves aren't human-like xD) modified by Syrinx to be better warriors/guards :P

Either way, I don't really understand why players always go for hybrid kids instead of just adoption <_<

When two of the setting's seven base races are hybrids, and the game includes a plethora of "half-X" templates, it sets a precedent.

Technically, through the use of magic, nanites and/or luck... you can even have a half-android! (The Numerian androids still have humanoid anatomy)

*Jots down notes for a Half-Kitsune, Half-Android Bard-slinger.*

Adoption is awesome but there are plenty of reasons to want kids of your own. Any argument you use in real life is an argument that their characters would use. If the heterosexual couple has sex and wants to have kids then they will have them. The question the OP asked was "is it possible." I'd say yes but it's ultimately up to the GM.

Eh, but when players start discussing using magic to create hybrid kids, I'm like "...Adoption is underrated" :P That is surprisingly common discussion from what I've seen, way more common than considering adoption

Yeah I usually don't go for magically created races, especially hybrids, but they do exist in Pathfinder so it's easy to see why people go there.

Yeah we were just looking about if we could do it the old fashion way haha

If a Strix mated with an Oread, the offspring would be gargoyles!!

Interesting possibilities.

Not quite. Androids in Pathfinder are still organic and they still have souls, they are just artificially grown and are filled with nanites. Also, because of the nanites, their bodies don't deteriorate with age, so when they die, another soul will later inhabit their body.

So a kitsune/android hybrid would still be a full android, they would just be based off a kitsune template as opposed to a human template.

There is no cannon answer I know of, pitch the possibilities to your GM.

Fantasy has long been very optimistic about mating not outside your taxonomic class...

Sorry, but James Jacobs has confirmed on the forums that androids are sterile.

Well if you can't get the strix and human to mate successfully, you can always just find a third partner in a dragon, both mate with said dragon because dragons can mate with literally anything that isn't incorporeal/not alive, and then have said half-dragon children mate to breed out the dragon part and get a half-human half strix grandchild!

In the 'Inner Sea Monster Codex' an agent from Hermea describes several races and their compatibility to humans. The strix-passage includes the following sentence:

"Even if they were reproductively compatiple with humans, hundreds of years of Chelish aggression has imparted a burning distrust of outsiders;"
