It seems I might get involved in two projects at the same time.

Also, note to self: never delay until deadline when sending queries and such. Deadlines are good for projects in which you are already involved...

Went over to Huntsville Al space center tonight because they have German night on Thursdays. For a decent price we got a plate of german food, with dessert and a drink, (for a little extra I had a special new german beer called 'T-Minus' in honor of the Space Camp), Listened to a 2-man band play german music, visited with some folks we met (half the family was from England) and walked around the Saturn V Hall. Followed by a walk around an outdoor shopping area near the hotel.

It was a good night! :D

Well, another opportunity for a job. This one is a security one , but in a much quieter venue than the hospital. Supposedly full time, but we shall see

So I was on the boat trying to kill the dude for the Dark Brotherhood, but I accidentally tuned into a werewolf.

Eating his heart before howling at the moon counts as stealth, right?

I accidentally tuned into a Wolfman one night, man, but all he did was play rock music.

You're ahead of me I am still working on my 4 th. play through. 2 infiltrators, 1 soldier, and this time a sentinel. I do have a good grasp now of which biotic and tech powers I like.

So, I drove a day camp to a water park. I thought I'd be stranded in the bus, but they were kind enough to give me a comp wristband. Sadly, I didn't bring a bathing suit >.<

So, time to update my PbPs and sweat while I watch people float down the lazy river, lol

I used to love the German Club at Fort Bliss. The schnitzel was fantastic there. And they threw a mean Octoberfest.

Edit: Boo they shut it down! :(

The only two German-themed restaurants I've ever been in were pretty decent. One was in Peoria, Illinois. The other was in Kamakura, Japan.

So I have scheduled a dentist appointment. It is the week after next.

I have not been to the dentist in 8(ish) years. This brings me much trepidation, but also much pride for making the appointment,

I have two broken wisdom teeth. For, like, the last 6 years. I am prepared to be scolded.

A couple weeks ago, I read a story about a guy that had an untreated abscess that rotted out part of his skull. That scared me into addressing it. Also, in the last week, it has become sensitive when I eat ice cream, which is unacceptable, but less serious than a rotting skull.

Sadly, I was not really paying enough attention to remember the German names of the food, But I had a fried pork steak with a rich mushroom gravy, and my wife had a 'veggie lasagna' which was eggplant and portabella with a lemon-cream sauce. Both were Delicious.

The beer was a German Pilsner with 'lots' of Tangerine added for flavor (Not enough for me, but I'm not much of a beer drinker) They called it 'T-Minus' in honor of the Space Program & the Tangerines in it. It wasn't bad at all for a beer I suppose. :)

EDIT- And the desserts (Black Forest Cake and the Apple Pie) were ALSO Delish! ;)

Treppa (and Patrick and anyone else), about your Netflix/recuperation watching suggestions: I mentioned Peaky Blinders a little while back. I'd also definitely recommend Mr. Robot on Hulu. Season 2 just started, picking up where Season 1 left off. Don't let it being on the USA Network fool you; it's easily as good, if not considerably better, than most premium cable shows. But you do have to start from the very beginning of Season 1 to understand what's going on, and you'll be very tempted to rewatch it all again to pick up all the hidden hints and clues you missed the first time.

I have been intrigued by the bits I have seen advertised about Mr Robot. I tried Humans, but I found it weak and the characters unengaging.

I didn''t like the US/UK version of Humans either, so much unrealized potential. I've heard that the original Swedish series, Real Humans, was better but I haven't seen it.

Speaking of Swedish, the Wallander series is very good, but I'd watch Kenneth Branagh in pretty much anything.

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is another UK series that I really enjoyed, but it's only one season (7 episodes) so far. I haven't read the book(s) it was based on, so I can't compare. I don't see it on Hulu or Netflix though, so I'm not sure how you'd legally watch it.

I haven't read the books that The Expanse show was based on either, but I very much enjoyed the show when it first aired on SyFy. Only 10 episodes so far, but season 2 should kick off early next year adding another 12 episodes. Season 1 is a slow burn, and some of the political scenes on Earth seem out of place at first, but it picks up speed and everything comes together toward the end of the season. The cliffhanger is "AUGH, NO! You can't stop there!". Poor Julie Mao.

I have seen Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell under the free videos included with Amazon Prime. That service has quite a bit of good stuff in it. I recommend the adaptation of Phillip K Dick's alt history opus Man in the High Castle there as well.

I did the audiobook of The Expanse, and it is very chilling. I need to catch up on the series. I stopped at episode two.

Try and find a subtitled version of the Swedish original - much better. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm Swedish.)

The political scenes in the first season of the show were from the second book (I think), but they were supposed to be happening simultaneously as the first book. The Mars scenes of season two are from a later book (Caliban's War?), but again, now showing chronologically, so the show will spoil the books you haven't read.

Gunnery Sergeant Roberta "Bobbie" W. Draper, Martian Marine, is supposed to be badass. Squeee!

I need you to call my house and share horror stories of people who didn't go to the dentist with my wife. She hasn't been to a dentist since we lived in Philly.

Scarab Sages

As a follow up - I am paying the price for years of non-attention to my teeth. I didn't go to a dentist for probably 7 or 8 years while living in Philly. Since I've been down here I've been going regularly. No cavities, thankfully, but I've needed repairs on three different crowns. And I have three crowns due to my previous round of dental non-visits between high school and my mid-20s.

Sadly I am between dental health plans (well, I could always go VA, but...)

I have a huge hillbilly gap where my front tooth dropped out and I fear some of my crowns from yesteryear have fallen out. I hate dental work :/

Oh and...

GOOD MORNING TREEFORTNAM!!!
