I have not had the chance to see Kurt Russell Santa Claus. But I think it's probably on par with him being Ego. I mean if I was living planet, Kurt Russel would probably be my choice too for an interactive form.

Kurt Russell is amazingly successful actor, considering that most of the parts I've seen him play seem to be just him being,... Kurt Russell. :)

But yeah, I think he made a great Ego.

AND let us not forget that wonderful piece of campy yet awesomeness that was,...
Big Trouble in Little China! :)

Time for the madness. Auditions for the school play are in a week.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Just ask a lot of annoying questions until you get it right!

Lady Of The Questionable Morals. Leader of the Othertown's criminal underground.

And 'Break a Leg!' (Preferably someone else's leg!) ;P

Wait,... are you auditioning? Or DOING the auditioning?!?

O_o

Two completely different realms of madness there,...

I'm sponsoring it because we haven't had anyone willing to run the play since before I started here. I've never directed anything before.

Rag,

That was a given, IE Big Trouble in Little China.

The Merchant of the Othertown.

The Othertown itself, as a PF settlement stat-block

*sighs* It's times like this...mostly because of Bestiary 6, that I want to run Krampus as a PC antagonist with horror rules. :P

OH MY...I just stole that idea.

Cal,

Well I tried this once before...but it never got off the ground. :P

Here are my mother's Almond Bark Xmas cookies.

Xmas Cookies:
Almond Bark Xmas Cookies

  • 2 1/2 LBs White Chocolate (almond bark) Melt the almond bark in the microwave or in double boiler.
  • 2 cups of Captian Crunch Peanut Butter Ceral
  • 2 cups of Rice Crispies
  • 2 cups of mini-marshmallows
  • 1 large jar of Dry Roasted Unsalted Peanuts
  • Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Then dip into 2x2 mounds onto Waxpaper,
  • let set for 30 minutes to set up.

I took these cookies to a Xmas party and I offered a cookie to Sue Ellan, then a sweet teenager she exclaimed they looked like "Pooh Poo," and it became a joke between us. If you make these cookies you can not help but think of Winnie and the Hundred Acre Wood.

I'll settle for regular chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin and of course, Welsh griddle cakes. :p :)

Scripts and prompt book are here. Now to flip through for some cold readings for auditions.

I would like to take a moment to just say I'm really glad I joined this thread. It's interesting, fun, and even educational at times. I also feel like I've gotten to know some of you guys well enough that if we knew each other in the real world we'd be friends and gaming partners. So anyway, I probably wrote this because of my pain meds but it is sincere.

It's okay to be sincere and be on pain meds, Cal. I'd enjoy having you in a gaming session, especially if I could ever get "Let's Kill Krampus" going...

That would be so amazing! LOL

LOL, Thanks Cal,

I'd like to think that when on meds, we speak only truth. :)

You know, when we can still speak,... ;P

I have to echo the sentiment though, nice thread, nice peeps, nice topics,
:D

My list of friends is painfully short, I include you on that list, Cal. I also hope to join all of you in the ranks of friendship.

Just hang around. You'll be in the cult in no time!

My shrink retired today. Now I have to find a new one. I was commuting 30 miles one way to see her so I hope hope hope I can find one here in town. Besides the one who is a severe germophobe with OCD. I've seen him once before. In fact he was the first one I spoke to after I had my breakdown and lost my last job, which was in February 2007. I realize that severe OCD is a debilitating thing for those who must live with it, but it made me really uncomfortable with him checking his shoe shine and spraying his desk down with Lysol while in the middle of the session. I did find out that he has begun tele-consulting now, so that might work for both of us if he accepts my insurance. No germs from me and since I don't have a working vehicle I wouldn't have to bum rides from people.

Good luck with that, Cal. Therapists are like shoes. It can be hard to get one that fits just right.

Well, the show is officially open and running!

our production of 'It's a Wonderful Life' opened Thursday night, not a sell out crowd by any means (Thur night) but a good crowd.
It seemed close (as it usually does) but we managed to pull it together!

NOW just got to get through This weekend, setting up and tech-ing a dance show on MY stage this weekend, then running almost an hour away to do wonderful life too.

Yeah,... I took today off work. :)
But I'm too darn responsible, so I'm sitting here checking my work email from home. ;P

Just have to survive this weekend, THEN I get a couple of days 'off' before I basically have to do it all over again! (Both working on my stage, and performing)

Yep. I'm a glutton for punishment.
And clapping. LUV the clapping. :)

Hi, Everyone!

Howdy!

Hey John. Remind me again, is there a GASP Game Day in January or not?

Also I'm glad SOMEONE is doing It's a Wonderful Life. Clarence is a under-rated angel.

Cal,

I hope you find a nice person to talk with. It helps, especially for me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks, Thomas. I'm going to start looking around for one after the first of the year. Right now would be difficult to schedule an appointment with holiday plans and such. I'm pretty sure I can find someone.

The schedule for next year isn't out yet. When I find out, I'll let you know.

Cool. Since I now have my mom's old car (2006 Toyota Highlander), and I'm pretty sure it won't die or not pass state inspection, I'll be considering doing a few GASP Game Days in 2019.

Clocking out. Good night, everyone.

Just got back from our annual group's Christmas party and gaming weekend. Though we only had one night of it this year it was great fun. Bad weather kept quite a few away so attendance was about half what we normally have. I got to actually be a player in a DC Heroes' game and had a great time.

But the biggest surprise was when I was given a really large portrait of my first D&D character, an Anti-Paladin. It was commissioned by my group and paid for with a secret GoFundMe campaign. The portrait was done by Peter Bradley, who has done a great deal of work for Troll Lord Games. I was very touched by this because not only was it not cheap it just really touched me that they appreciated me so much for all of the last 33 years of gaming. It's a wonderful rendition of the character and I am ever so grateful for it. They're a pretty ok group of folks. Guess I'll keep 'em a while longer.

Hi, everyone. Pulling a double shift here at work. The morning guard got sick, or something.

Spoiler:
He has diabetes, and he doesn't watch his sugars. Of course, he's going to get sick. But it's none of my business.

Huh. I hadn't remembered that scene - I thought the exchange was from a joke or something...
