I'm a PbP noob. Which is ironic given the way I got into RPing.

I think at this point, I've logged more time into PbPs than into face-to face games (gaming for about 16 years, playing in PbPs for 10 of those years).
I honestly prefer the PbP format at this point. Given that I'm a terrible roleplayer in RL games, the all-text format allows me to put more thought into what my character would do and say, which makes for a more rewarding experience. My only real issue with PbPs is the fact that nearly every one I've been in has sort of just petered out, with everyone else just losing interest or forgetting about the game.

I prefer PBP for this reason exactly. In RL you don't get the character I'm playing, you just get me.

I'd love to be a good roleplayer, but I just don't have the personality for it (I guess that means I'll never get the real power...). I've always been the type to enjoy watching the story progress and seeing how the other characters interact, but my strengths skew more toward the mechanical/rules side of games. PbP allows me to do both.

I love having a complete history of the game in written form too. My Silver Rose game has 81/2 years of great gaming accessible if you are willing to dig through the thread
Which reminds me!
I need to spend some of my copious spare time this Christmas Break,...,LOLOLOLOL! Oh, sorry, I TRIED to say that with a straight face! I really did! ;P
ANYway, I need to get back on track with a certain wizardly journal.
I've been giving my writing (style, or lack thereof,) some thought and I hope to have some time to spend on it. :)
But Spring is always busy at work (University Auditorium) and I somehow got into the chorus of Sweeney Todd for the Spring, (Which I will also be Lighting Designing and tech directing), AND with the usual kids busyness,.,.. well. I'm going to be doing my writing, but I'm going to have to be VERY serious about my time management. ;P
Here's a bit of fun news to share!
Summer of 2015 My daughter went back to Space Camp in Huntsville Alabama, and it so happened that THAT week they were filming a documentary called "The Mars Generation' to show off the future-geeks that will actually get us to Mars.
Finally the film is ready, and about April it will be viewable on Netflix!
But the films Premiere is Jan 20, in Salt Lake City. And the producer has called us and asked if my daughter could attend, as they want as many of her group to attend as possible. (Her group was the fun group that the director fell in love with)
He even got Netflix to agree to fly us out there and put us in a hotel if we can make it. O-O
<_< >_> o_o
Yeah,... as terribly busy as that particular week is for us all, I think we're going to be making some time off for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. :)

I went to bed before midnight only to wake up past 3 am.
It's a sort of progress after a bout of waking up past 1 am in similar circumstances. Of course this does not solve problem of not being able to sleep now meaning I'll crash down once burning ball of gasses is up again and wake up when it will be going down.

So Rogue One
Imho Disney is the savior of the franchise. This is the best Star Wars film since Empire .
I will not spoil the movie, but it's good.
Just came back from seeing it myself, and I've got somewhat mixed feelings, but overall, I'd say it's a good film.
Also, the fully-digital human characters, combined with splicing in archive footage from A New Hope to create character continuity, while fun for me as a fan, were super jarring and pulled me right out of the film. A lot of reshoots were done for the movie, and I could really tell.
In all, I'd call it a well-made, beautiful-looking sci-fi action film with good performances but bland characters, along with a few questionable directorial decisions, all coated with a coat or two of Star Wars paint. I'd rank it just below Return Of The Jedi and above Revenge Of The Sith on my list.

Yeah, I won't have money to see it until January - if I get money for Christmas, that is.

I don't remember your opinion... Do you like Episode VII?
I did. I know a lot of people consider it just a 'clone' of A New Hope, but I think that parallel storyline was needed to lure in disenfranchised viewers like yours truly.
Plus, it was a great movie. Considering how far they had to go to make me a franchise fan again, I think they performed spectacularly

New otherworldly patron for 5th edition warlocks.
How it is even remotely possible to not have warlock-necromancers?!

Freehold, I'm scared.
don't be scared. It's just snow.
Beautiful beautiful snow.
I enjoyed Friday night snow as I had nowhere to go Saturday and it will melt by tomorrow so no need to shovel :-)
So great to stand by the tree with my daughter watching it snow and listen to Christmas music. Then my digs went out to Pac-Man snowfall.

I generally enjoyed everything in Eps I-III that didn't involve Anakin or Padme or Jar-Jar. Scenes containing Palpatine were all acceptable, even if Anakin was there. There were some terrific fight scenes in the "prequels".
Anakin's awfulness as a character made Palpatine's Evil Glee (TM) very relatable. Lucas did an amazing job of making the bulk of the good guys stuffy and dull, while the bad guys were interesting and really on their games. The Dark Side was appealing because the Light Side was basically a piece of white bread with a glass of water on the side for dippin'.

After a full night's rest, I've decided: Rogue One is a fantastic film... and I didn't really like it very much. I'm probably going to go see it again.

I saw Rogue One Saturday.
Excellent movie, reminiscent of the first trilogy. Just blown away from the action, starfighter battles, capital ship combat, and it's mano-to-mano combat. Way better than my hategasm for Episode 7 (which sucked IMPO)

My order of preference for Star Wars Movies
Episode IV: A New Hope - The Birth of Greatness
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - The Cliffhanger of the 20th Century
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - I love Capital Ship Combat
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - Fall of the Jedi Order, Dead Younglings, Vader vs. Darth Sidious, Obi-Wan vs Annikin, this one has it all!
Episode II: Attack of the Clones - Mystery, Intrigue, the Stage is set for Annikin's fall from grace. Oh yes, Yoda opens one serious can of whoop-ass.
Episode I: The Phantom Menace - Meh, It's good to see more Jedi even if the SW Galaxy is politically corrected.
Episode VII: With whta JJ Abrams and the writing team did to the Star Trek universe makes my blood boil to his name in credits in episode VII. This film movie pushes me towards the Dark Side.

I like the new of the movie in the behind the news reporter.
Teenage Sex Wager vs. Boner Academy.
How did they get that one past the network censors?
