I am feeling old when someone makes a thread about missing 'the old posters' and I don't recognize 95% of the names offered? Or as a certain zombie said, damn has it been 10 (nine in my case) years?

I am starting up that evil game you said you were interested in. I figure you might hAve missed the announcement. Let me know if you are still interested I'm interested, but the scholarship hunt and AP Courses are gonna stop me for at least the next few months.
Thank you for thinking of me, though!
Im getting so old I put my clothes on inside out.,,,

I started out as "the kid," then became one of the "Lords of the Boards," and now I'm a ghost. Sort of like a life in miniature.

Paizomandias
I met a traveller from an antique server
Who said: Two vast and trackless threads
Stand in the OTD. Near them, archived
Half sunk, an abandoned avatar lies, whose frown,
And snark reply, and sneer of cold contempt,
Tell that its poster well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the profile these words appear:
'My name is Paizomandias, Lord of the Boards
Look on my post count, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal troll boundless and bare
The lone and level forums stretch far away.
*noticed Lord Of The Boards and puts Guano Apes on the YT*
*refrains oneself from political rant*
Maybe in LGBT thread?
*shrug*

Maybe I should move all the YT shortcuts to different All Along Watchtower version into a separate folder?

I was one of the original posters in the Civil Religious Discussion thread. Let that sink in for a second. If you begin to feel an intense and crushing feeling of religious terror at the concept, don't be alarmed. That indicates only that you are still sane.

Also, with the accumulation of a large body of incontrovertible evidence, I've come to a conclusion:
A space station in neutral territory, administered by humans and a council of three major alien races, including an ancient crumbling empire, a group of reptilian beings focused on warfare and espionage, and a strictly hierarchical society that recently fought and lost a war with their new allies, the humans? A multiethnic crew made up of a forthright but somewhat rebellious commanding officer, a straight-laced female XO, a wise-cracking security expert, a veteran doctor, an attractive alien with a deep-seated interest in understanding human culture, an officer with psychokinetic powers, and a handful of squabbling diplomats? An unknowable menace lurking beyond the edge of the galaxy in their cephalopoid starships, aided by secret agents embedded in various galactic governments, and waiting to destroy all galactic civilization with their deadly super-lasers?
It's official: the Mass Effect trilogy is the epic series of Babylon 5 games that we never knew we had.

I apparently just recently celebrated my 9th anniversary on the boards. My first post was in the RPGSS subforum (go figure).

My first posts were all in the Music & Audio subforum. Go figure, right?
I first joined the forums in order to read James Jacobs' Age Of Worms campaign journal.

10.5 years and counting! Yeah, yeah, fine. I'm still younger than you by a few years.
First post was a response to something bitter thorn said in a political thread.

Well, we both predate Pathfinder anyway.

It was actually Winter is Coming. I somehow hid it.

I don't recall my first post. But it was Pre-Pathfinder as well.
I DO recall having to make a few posts in regards to my Dragon subscription following me after Katrina. :)
WHichever, still over 9 years at LEAST, (That's how long I've been in my present job.) So,...11?

on the last page is talk about sub-zero temperatures, I did not understand hat the fuss was about, subzero is just normal winter weather - then I remembered that you guys talk abou FARENHEIT o.O :-)
So, now that everyone else is doing it, I had to go back and check. First post was 30 June 2005. So it seems my previous estimate of 10 years was off by about a year and a half.
Seems weird to think I've been a part of this community for such a long time.
First post on these forums in august 2007.
What is all this white accumulation on the ground?

don't be scared. It's just snow.
Beautiful beautiful snow.
First post on shiny new iPhone.
I have it on good authority that John is getting me a Skagen hybrid smart watch for Christmas and my ancient iPhone (5 year old 4s) was not going to be compatible. I was overdue for an upgrade.

Five year old phone is now dumbphone. Time for a new one that will festively burst into flames and keep you warm all winter.
It's 11:30, and I just got up. Couldn't sleep last night until after 1 and woke up before 5 because my feet were hot. Got up for a couple hours and spent some time standing on the tile floor near the outside door until I was cold, then went back to bed.
Stupid flu.
I am out Christmas shopping, and once again found that the lunch counter in Nordstrom is the only reasonable place to eat lunch when the mall is this busy. It's like a little corner of calm in the tempest that is the shopping mall a week before Christmas.

Nordstrom has a lunch counter? What on earth do they serve?
When Mom and I went downtown Christmas shopping, she always made reservations at the Walnut room at Marshall Field's. It had a huge central atrium several stories tall (I'm not sure how tall it actually was, but it looked about 10 stories to a little girl), and the tables were arranged on balconies overlooking the atrium. They put up an enormous Christmas tree in the middle, all the way up to the top of the space, and had outsized gift boxes that could have contained a small car at the base to give the appropriate scale. We dressed up (the Walnut room was a nice place) and had a fancy lunch out before going to see the animated Christmas windows on State Street. I always asked her who those presents were for and if we could come watch while they were unwrapped. They were never for me and we couldn't. :)
Edit: OK, so it had ONE balcony level, but it was pretty darned tall, especially to a little kid.
The menu is a bit of everything. There are tables in addition to the counter. I am a fan of the French dip sandwich.
Mind you, I'm not actually shopping at Nordstrom. Doing so would be an easy way to use up my entire budget on one sweater...
Yeah, I don't think I've ever bought anything in a Nordstrom. At least, not that I can recall.
