Keep em chained in your basement. Only very infrequently do they get the courage to gnaw their feet off and drag themselves to safety...

So YOU inspired that movie series...

I am a member of my primary gaming group for 23 years now, the group was already running almost 10 years when I joined, only one member of the original 1e group is left, though

Amusingly enough my wife's old employers wife was a Producer of the Saw movies...

I agree, but there's got to be some level of consistency, fairness, and communication. If I build a character who is gutted by sudden Rule 0 decisions, I'm not a happy camper.
Well, in legal realism the laws are there to assist in a just outcome. But, that doesn't mean a judge can just make up his own laws. I feel gaming realism would be the same. Once the rules of a game are decided upon, it behooves the players and GM to adhere to them. However, the rules are not an iron fetter: If a sense of fairness or good gameplay dictates an 'interpretation ' of the rules, then by all means.

Ergo, 'The Rule of Cool',...

Which states thusly;

"As long as IT be Awesome, whether Heroically, Emotionally, or Amusingly, IT shall be Allowed to be Tried. As long as IT is not an Auto-Succeed. There must be an Element of Danger and/or a Chance of Failure, or the Success is not Awesome." ;)

(Somewhat paraphrased from 40+ years of Gaming) ;P

Like being shot out of a burning tower window by a jet of high-pressure water and triggering your figurine of wondrous power (griffon) mid-tumble to land unscathed? ;)

Works for me.

Ugh. Subzero windchillies tonight. I'm not looking forward to walking through all the ancient buildings tonight.

You can see how the holidays might be an issue for me

Still, it is a fun season. I'm working a sh!tton of it though

But, that is cool since I need coinage

And I can stay home and type on the computer and earn nothing .... or type on the computer and get paid

It's a no-brainer

Last RPG session of the year (& Conan campaign), and we had a new player taking over an absent players PC, in the final showdown he got lightning bolted..... whoops, guess we might not see that player again. But my character just survived, a fun campaign with twists and a astoundingly fast pace.

Man, it is jaw-achingly, ball-clenchingly, redonkulously COLD out there tonight! 20 deg F with 50-mile-an-hour winds. The wind chill had to be sub zero at this point, maybe -10F

It is 50 here but dropping to -3 in a few hours. Joy.

Sounds like fun! Poor n00b. I hope it wasn't friendly fire; that's pretty hard to take

Yeah I am beginning to see why people move south as they age. It gets harder and harder to deal with these frigid temps. I was not happy walking around checking buildings tonight in that michegas

Nah, BBEG 1-shotted him, which I did slightly talk to the GM about afterwards... although had to run for my train, so didn't talk too much about it. However the chap seemed to have fun, but no game for 3 weeks could ensure he doesn't return - that & no good GM's have signed up so far.

I can't believe you have a freaking gaming club in your town. Amaze balls.

/me hands over a hot toddy.

Well it's been going 30 odd years now, and even at one point spawned 3 clubs (during the dark drama times), they even held Conventions/Gaming Shows (there's still a couple of grand in the kitty... that we cannot really touch).

But then again there's the usual 'drama' with the Wargamers, which does result in tension. The upside is all of us are associates of the Royal Air Force Association. :)

Texas is awesome......

It's a balmy 45 degrees this morning.

Warming up to 75 tomorrow! (I thought this was supposed to be WINTER?!?)

Then I think sunday it rains again, and drops into the 30's.

In Louisiana. SOUTH Louisiana.

I just wish the friggin weather would make up it's mind. (Lately it has started chilly in teh mornings, then warming up to mid 60's during the day) I can deal with hot or cold, but not both on the same day! ;P

You're behind the times, now you should hear Moana or Maui's voice.
