How I feel about Windows

It's just past midnight and I already feel sleepy...

Umm. Treppa's punctuation table-flip is awesome.

Ok. Nerd question. How would I get the symbol for 'section ' to appear on screen? It's that weird snake-looking guy. I'm certain there's a sequence of keys to make it happen

Nevermind. I literally researched it in 30 seconds.

It is so amazing to me that I can usually find the answer to just about anything in under five minutes

False alarm. I woke up after dosing for less than three hours. Just to discover a package of new games from Lord Synos waiting...

Thank you!

Oh wait... Civ 5 and Beyond Earth.

I have a strange sense I was supposed to do something this night...

Sleep? What do you mean by that? What is that sleep you are speaking of? In just a moment I will have a few more turns to go through...

Oh my god.

The computer is up and running.

This text comes to you thanks to donations from slaads like Ambrosia.

....

who eerrily, apparently rebooted my screen so that it wasn't so stretched out and now looks normal. I have no idea how she did that, especially as it only seemed to happen as I said her name, but thank you.

Now, does anyone have any idea as to what type of virus scanner I should install on this thing before I go too crazy?

Now I wonder, is Freehold holding some secret hatred for Steam or could we get him into our small steam group if he has a computer capable of holding moderately recent games...

Actually, I have hard copies of most of the games I would want to play on steam, primarily the Total War series. I would love to find out if this computer could run Medeival 2 so I could play the Westeros Total War Mod.

I bought Zombicide tabletop simulator on Steam. Now I need to figure out how to access it on my work computer .....

Back to work. Push on until 8am, then head home. I'd really like to go get a truckful of dump loam, but I'm not sure where my headspace will be by morning. I have a wedding to drive at 5pm, then the hospital kicks in 8am Saturday, 12am sunday and 4pm Sunday.

I might actually have Monday off entirely. If that proves to be the case, then it is going to be gardening time fer shure.

Also... Why is it bright outside? Wait, 8 am already?

...

Was it 4 hours of playing already?!

Starting Orphan Black

I'm not sure how I like it, but I'm going to push on and give it a chance

~laughter~ Been there, done that. I remember about 8 months ago I was playing something and I thought "It is only 2 or 3 am. I can get a few hours of sleep before I go to work." and then I saw the time. 5:30 am and I had to get up at 6 am. Joy oh joy. That was not a fun day at work.

What game were you playing, Drejk?

Ah, another day done. I fear the loam will have to wait. I am not really in the mood to shovel any.

IMHO it was ok. I preferred Borderlands 1 and 2 over it. Having said that, I did sink over 40 hours into it. I am looking foreward to Borderlands 3 when it comes out.

My Baby Mama Kitty Cat is going to live. The vet called me and said that she was not diabetic and her kidneys are coming back. She was looking at kidney failure due to the infection, but they seem to be doing better due to the antibiotics and them rehydrating her. ~sighs~ Another day or two and we would have lost her. As it is, she will probably be loosing a few teeth due to me not realizing that she was that sick.

Yay for fur baby recovery.

She can get by missing a few teeth. Don't let her talk you into paying for fancy replacements.

Don't blame yourself. Animals in the wild don't want anything else to know they are sick, because then they're vulnerable. They have gotten very good at covering when they don't feel good, and that has passed through to our domesticated buddies.

I'm on the high plains, but the mountains are an hour away. And I plan to get snow tires this winter so I can drive in all but the worst weather, even in the mountains.

C'mon down. Up. Over. Whatever.

The Steam version of Total War Rome and Medieval II do work with Windows 10. It is the non-Steam version that needs some fixing. I will look through my old posts and repost the site that gives the fix for that. I would just wait until it goes on sale later on this year to pick it up on Steam.

hi everyone,

we brought 330 kg / 730lb of apples to the press this week, from my dads ladyfriends little orchard.
we can get applewine and applejuice from the winemaker for 50€cent for these apples and every other juice for 70 to 80 €cent

and I took a 10liter/2.6gal bucket from dad's grapes, put them through the juice extractor which gave me 2.5 liter which where made into grape jelly ? jam? what is the right word here?

I believe jelly is the correct term with grapes. I really have no idea why, I think there's some technical aspect to the differences between jellies and jams. Raspberries are jams, grapes are jelly.

Hmm. Magic Robot Brain assist me!

Magic Robot Brain wrote:

Jelly, jam and preserves are all made from fruit mixed with sugar and pectin. The difference between them comes in the form that the fruit takes.

In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice.
In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit (and is less stiff than jelly as a result).
In preserves, the fruit comes in the form of chunks in a syrup or a jam.
Pectin is an indigestible carbohydrate (fiber). It is found in the cell walls of most fruit. When heated with sugar in water, it gels, giving jam, jelly and preserves their thickness.
