Working on a new painting; going in a more symbolic direction(*cue Film Brain*), but I'm stuck: I was originally going to include a book or scroll featuring some text/symbols, but that's really cliche-- any suggestions on a suitable replacement that doesn't suck (i.e. not an iPad or something)?

I swear to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that heroin has got to be the worst thing ever. This constant parade of fncked-up users is so depressing.

Tattooed symbols?

T-shirt? Blackboard? Graffiti?

A billboard?

Meme images?

It's official. I'm a mutant.

When the boy was born, I though for sure he was going to be a mutant. His toes had this weird shape, and it looked like they might be able to sprout claws.

Sadly, his mutation never manifested.

Patrick,

be careful, that is not healthy, esp. for a bus driver

I hope all our New Yorkers were clear of Chelsea last night.

It's just as well. So few real life mutations are of the X-Men model...

Thankfully, my boy is not too familiar with the X-men yet, so he does not have to live with that disappointment yet.

The thing is, that's as much sleep as I need. I don't feel tired, I don't feel unhealthy. I only feel sleepy if I get less than 2hrs sleep.

That's where the mutant thing comes in

I'm more of a 9-hours kinda guy...

Scarab Sages

I think I've been averaging 6 or 7 hours a night for the past 20 years or so.

Sadly, that's been thrown off recently by my new trend of falling asleep watching TV at night.

The only time I've ever slept near that long is when I was weak from severe illness. And possibly as a baby.

Seen on a job application:

"Must have excellent graphic design skulls."

Apparently, having excellent spelling is optional. Either that, or they want and/or need skulls.

I'm extremely lucky that I have this lack of sleep requirement. I don't think I'd be able to get through this next year if I was forced to get nine hours a night to function.

That and I have the ability to sleep on command. Very handy to have when it is time t sleep. And catnaps refresh me greatly. 45 minutes of meditation does wonders.

In case anyone ever wondered what it was like living inside a Monty Python sketch, a Facebook ad just offered me discounts on 1) ladders, 2) walkie-talkies, and 3) violins. In the same ad.

They seem to be offering me T shirts of just about anything they think I might be interested in. I guess this means I buy a lot of T shirts

Well, shift's almost over. It was quite an adventure figuring out the different doors to unlock. There's a lot of buildings out here.

Nothing caught on fire or began leaking radioactive fluids. So that's cool

No radioactive fluid leaks? How are you to gain superpowers without a radioactive fluid leak?

Don't worry it was my first day solo. There's plenty of time to get irradiated or bitten by a radioactive crab or something

Back from dentist.

Upper left six done.

A dark gaping hole in the side of upper left five discovered. Apparently it looks bad. A medicine put inside, need to check in three months to replace medicine, clean the area, and decide if it's time for root channel or not. Hopefully not because root channel is beyond my financial capabilities.

I need to go in late November to finish upper right six anyway.

It will be also time for a new dentist. The one who done my teeth this year will leave for another clinic.

Also, the filling put inside my tooth tastes awful.
