All I know about you is what you said about my father at the funeral, but I'd like to know more from your side."

He ponders that a moment, "Wise words indeed, Madam. I do believe I will take you up on that offer." He nods gratefully. "You know, I would gather, as much as you would have to be proud of your father, he must have been equally as proud of you." He says with a wide grin as he slighty raises his teacup in a toast and then takes another sip. "So you wish to know a bit about myself, hm?" Morbury looks a bit taken aback with that question. "I must admit, I have never been asked such a question. I am not sure exactly where to begin." He tells her as he decides on where to start.

"There truly is not that much to tell, Madam. I am the son of Leicester and Honoria Dedlock." He says quite proudly. "They raised me and taught me to be the man I am today. If it were not for their love, their determination, their sacrifice, I would have none myself. I, like you Madam, am very much proud of who my parents were and I loved them dearly. It has been many long years since their passing, but not a day goes by that I do not think of them." He pauses a moment to take another sip of his tea, smiling at the memories. "I try to live my life in honor of their memory in all that I do, always hoping to make them proud. You know, I feel most parents would have kept one such as myself hidden from the world," pausing again, "but not so with them. They never treated me like I was different. Although, I did choose to remain within the confines of my home. I felt it was the best path to take at the time. I knew there would come a time when I would venture out and 'take on the world', I guess you could say, but my formidable years were not that time." He smiles as he continues to run through his mind all that his parents have taught him. "Through them, I have accepted what I am. I do not hide from it, yet I do not flaunt it. I try to be as careful as I can around others, knowing what people think of those such as myself, but I refuse to be ashamed of myself at the same time. Sir Rauno turned down going with Miss Darcy into town when she offered, due to the fact that being what he is, would hinder her efforts. I pondered that myself, truly unable to disagree. But then we are back to hiding because of what we are and not living because of who we are. How will the world believe any different of us if we are always hiding? They already judge us by what we are, the only way to change it is to show them who we are." He says hoping he's explaining it clearly, then realizing he has gotten a bit carried away. "Excuse me, Madam, I have apparently ran off course." He feels a bit embarrased, then quickly continues. "Well," he shrugs, "outside of having to live my life with its obvious obstacles, I do not feel it would have differed than any normal human would have lived. I guess, I should say, any normal human raised in a line of nobility. My father was a holy warrior of the Dawnflower and so I have followed in his footsteps." Then realizing he has been rambling for far too long, he feels a ashamed for talking so much. "Forgive me, Madam, I have rudely dominated the conversation. As I said, this is unchartered territory for me. I have seem to have traveled everywhere with my answer. Hopefully I understood your question properly. If not, let me say now I would be most embarrassed. And if that is the case, please lie to me and tell me I understood it properly. I would not mind, honestly." He says with a playful smile.

Then attempting to remove the subject from himself, "Well, Madam Kendra, I have told you a bit about myself, what is the story behind the woman that is yourself?" He asks as he takes another sip of his tea.

No Problem, Darcy. Also sorry I missed Raundo was meant to have done this round's action. For future reference could you all put up in bold what round you're doing a action in so it get's my attention?

centipede

The giant centipede bites at Skyrn once more, yet completely missed Skyrn who side-steps it and from the attack it over-exhurts itself and collapses as the wound streaches bigger and it bleeds out.

attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

end of round actions unless you want to heal the centipedes and bring them back to health, but I doupt it :p

There are no more giant centipedes nearby, but there is a large sarcophogus at the end of the crypt and a hole in a wall where the vermin must've entered from.

Back at the Lorrimor Home

"Such a interesting life, though, not without pain I can imagine from what you said." she smiles as she takes her time when talking about her father. "He was a good man my father. He used to teach at Lepidstadt university, but when I was ten he retired and we moved here together. My mother had recently passed away so moving was the best for both of us. He didn't say much about what he was doing when he went away on those long trips where he must've met you and the others, but it gave me time to research and to become the diviner I am now." she says with a soft smile and thinking for a moment.

"Like everyone else I knew nothing about what he did and certain books that recovered were always questionable, but whenever I asked what he was using the books for, he never told me. That Gibs along with a few others in the town claimed it was because he was a necromancer or was planning to build flesh golems, but I knew my father wasn't up to anything like that and I can see why he didn't tell me as he wished to keep me out of danger." she smiles as she nods over to him and sighs looking over him "It was always so lonely when he wasn't here, but now it's going to be even lonlier. I doupt I'll stay here after the month has passed."

Well done, Skyrn. I am glad that you came with us, and I can see why the professor valued your companionship on some of his missions.

Rauno will recover his dagger, and then continue to hold the light high for the others. He'll step past the doorway that Skyrn just cleared and look around. His darkvision should go out well past the radius of the light spell.

As you can see there is a set of stairs leading down to the area where a sarcophagus is.

Rauno will make eye contact with Darcy and gesture to the sarcophagus below. If she doesn't stop him, Rauno will head down the stairs, making sure not to get far ahead of the other two since he has the light. If one of the others wants to pass him and go first, he will let them.

You don't notice anything besides more faint trail in the dust where someone had walked towards the sarcophagus.

Feeling terrible for Kendra, Morbury speaks up, "Madam, forgive me if this seems.... forward, but I must ask, has there never been one to court you?" He asks with surprise in his voice. "You are an exceptional woman! You are well learned, you are very proper, you are the most courteous woman I have ever met, seeing how you opened up your home to four complete strangers." He says as a matter of fact. "Madam, might I also add, that, you are also.... extremely...," Morbury looking directly into her eyes as he's speaking, pauses a moment as he's becoming a bit uncomfortable with where he is going. "um...," Just tell her your thoughts Morbury. Your parents always taught you to be honest. Getting his resolve back, "attractive, Madam. If you do not mind me saying." He says as the room seems to be a bit warmer than before. Calm down and stop overreacting! You are quite foolish you know. He thinks to himself, wondering why he would ever even begin to comtemplate that a woman of her stature would be interested in one such as himself. Knowing how farfetched and ridiculous that is, Morbury begins to calm down. A half-hearted smile forms from his thoughts. Ridiculous.

A few moments pass as he gets lost in his thoughts, he then remembers what else he wanted to say, "Forgive me, I lost my train of thought there a moment. Madam, I would hate for you to sell your home. There are so many memories here, it would truly be a shame. It does seem you love it so, is there nothing that will change your mind?" He sincerely asks, hoping there is something he can do to help.

Edit: Meant to include Morbury actually setting his tea down and standing up before speaking.

I assume you guys in the crypt wish to open the sarcophagus.

contents of the sarcophagus:

I'll assume you take your time in identifying the items as Ruando has detect magic and spellcraft. This will speed thing along for clarity.
You notice that there is considerable space where items are possibly missing, but it's hard to notice as there are so many items in here and so much space.

You manage to find the following:

a dozen silver arrows
four sun rods
six flasks of holy water
10 +1 arrows
five +1 ghost touch arrows
two +1 undead bane arrows
five potions of cure light wounds
two potions of lesser restoration
a scroll of detect undead
two scrolls of hide from undead
a scroll of protection from evil

and a thin darkwood case decorated with an image of a scarab with a single eye glaring from its back—the same design that appears on the cover of the Manual of the Order of the Palatine Eye among the books in the professor’s collection. The darkwood case is worth 50 gp, and contains three objects of interest—a spirit board with a brass spirit planchette, and four iron and glass vials containing tiny, churning clouds of vapor. The vials sit in velvet-lined indentations to the left of the spirit board and planchette, along with six empty indentions—leaving 4 in these indentations but 2 obviously missing areas. The six vials are all valuable magic items called haunt siphons.

Spirit planchette:

Aura moderate divination; CL 9th
Slot none; Price 4,000 gp (brass planchette),
10,000 gp (cold iron planchette), 18,000 gp (silver planchette); Weight 5 lbs.
Description
A spirit planchette is typically found in a wooden case along with a thin wooden board printed with numerous letters and numbers. Nonmagical versions of these divination tools can be purchased in curiosity shops (typically costing 25 gp); while these items can be used as alternative components for augury spells, only magical spirit planchettes allow users to communicate with the other side. Three types of spirit planchettes exist—brass, cold iron, and silver. Each in turn allows an increasingly potent form of divination effect to be utilized. A spirit planchette requires a board to move upon, but this “board” can be made up of letters scribed upon any smooth surface—it need not be a prepared board for a spirit planchette to work.

To use a spirit planchette, you must rest your fingers lightly upon the planchette’s surface and then concentrate on the planchette (as if maintaining a spell with a duration of concentration) for 2d6 rounds while the planchette attunes itself to the ambient spirits of the area. After this time, the planchette begins to slowly slide in random patterns across the board—at this point, questions may be asked of the spirits by any of the individuals involved in the séance. The consequences of each question asked of the spirits depends upon what type of planchette is used for the divination, as summarized on the able below. The spirits reply in a language understood by the character
who asked the question, but resent such contact and give only brief answers to the questions. All questions are answered with “yes,” “no,” or “maybe,” or by spelling out a single word from the letters arranged on the board. The spirits answer each question either in the same round the question is asked (in the case of a yes, no, or maybe answer) or at a rate of one letter per round (in the case of a single word being spelled out). A spirit planchette may be used once per day—the maximum number of questions you can ask with it depends on the type of planchette being used (as detailed on the table below).

Communication with spirits can be a dangerous task, for many spirits are jealous or hateful of the living. Every time a spirit planchette is used, the user must succeed on a Will save to avoid being temporarily possessed and harmed by the angry spirits. In some areas where the spirits are particularly violent or hateful, this Will save takes a –2 penalty. The DC of this save depends on the type of spirit planchette being used. Anyone who fails the Will save becomes confused for a number of rounds (depending on the type of planchette being used), and no answer is received. The spirits in the area are not omniscient—the GM should decide whether or not the spirits would actually know the answer to the question asked, and if they do not, the answer granted is automatically “maybe.” If the GM determines that the spirits are knowledgeable about the answer, roll d% to determine whether the spirits speak truthfully or whether they lie.

difficult to post tables so I'll simply explain this type, but you could technically construct or buy more expensive variations like cold iron and silver, but you wouldn't be able to get them here.

Brass gives you a single question per use, DC is 11, confusion duration lasts 1 round, 1-60% chance of a true answer and 61-100% a lie.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, contact other plane, speak with dead; Cost 2,000 gp (brass spirit planchette), 5,000 gp
(cold iron spirit planchette), 9,000 gp (silver spirit planchette)

Haunt Siphon:

Aura faint necromancy; CL 3rd
Slot none; Price 400 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
These glass vials are held within stylized cold-iron casings etched with strange runes, necromantic designs, or other eldritch markings. Within the vial roils a small wisp of white vapor, churning as if caught in a miniature vortex of air.
To capture a haunt’s energies within a haunt siphon, you need only twist the metal casing to open the vial in the same round that the haunt manifests (a standard action)—this can be before or after the haunt has acted. You must be within the haunt’s area of influence to use a haunt siphon. When you activate a haunt siphon, it deals 3d6 points of positive energy damage to a single haunt.

If it deals enough damage to the haunt to reduce the haunt’s hit points to 0, the mist inside the haunt siphon glows green—if it does not reduce the haunt to 0 hit points, the haunt siphon is still expended and becomes nonmagical. It may take multiple haunt siphons to destroy powerful haunts. A haunt that is neutralized by a haunt siphon takes a –5 penalty on its caster level check to manifest again after its reset time passes.

A haunt siphon that neutralizes a haunt can no longer be used to harm haunts, but it can be used as a grenadelike splash weapon that deals 1d6 points of negative energy damage with a direct hit. Every creature within 5 feet of the point where the haunt siphon hits takes 1 point of negative energy damage from the splash.
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, cure moderate wounds, gentle repose; Cost 200 gp

She appears caught off guard by the question as colour fills her cheeks.
"I...well no one has wanted to due to the theories about my father and work in the dark arts. The roumers moves to suggesting I was practising the arcane and raising the dead, but no one saw any proof so the whispers died down, yet no one has approched me." she says shyly, blushing as Morbury says about her being attractive.

They both appear to remain in silent for a bit before Morbury poses the question about the home.
"Well...I have not yet made up my mind. There is still a month to go before I make my decision. I...I am still unsure, but there are many positives to staying or selling my home and travelling before settling down."

After thanking Rauno for the praise, Skyrn stays close behind Darcy, making sure that nothing else jumps out at her while they descend to the sarcophagus. Helping lift up the cover of the sarcophagus, Skyrn looks at the treasures within in wonder.

After hearing the description of what is within, Skyrn looks around at everyone else and speaks up, "Well. Does anyone own a bow?"

Taking a few moments to look around the room, he adds, "I think it might be time to leave before anyone finds us." before beginning to gather the things up to leave.

Agreed. Let's head back to the house. If none of us have a bow, it may be time to invest in one. Rauno runs his fingers over the spots where the two vials are missing. He muses grimly It looks like the good professor took two of these. I can't help but wonder, if he took three would we not be having this conversation now?

Rauno will let the others lead the way up, though he continues to provide light. When we reach the door to the outside, he'll extinguish the light, let the eyes of the others adjust to the darkness, and push the door open. We'll exit carefully, wary of an ambush.

But for what it's worth, Madam, trust me when I tell you I can understand your pain of being alone. Now you responded to my earlier ramblings by saying there must have been a great deal of pain for me growing up. Truly, I think my parents suffered greater than I, but I can tell you that in all my years, as far back as I can remember until present day, there has nary been one I have even had the honor of calling 'friend'. Much less anything more. For me, though, it is something I am forced to become accustomed to. I accept that. For one such as you, Madam, it is truly an injustice." He says sincerely. "Whatever it is you decide, Madam, I hope it is truly what will make you happy. And know that I will aide you in any way possible. That is the least I can do for you, Madam Kendra, after all you have done for me." He says with a smile as he gives her a curt bow and takes his seat. He then reaches for his tea and takes another sip.

Once out of sight of the guard, Darcy begins to giggle and jump up and down. "That was so cool", then ruffling Rauno's hair, "Wasn't it honey". "Good thing old stick in the mud Morbury wasn't here". "He'd have just died when our honor was questioned".

Then noticing the man from earlier today..."Uh oh". "That guy from earlier today, who had a problem with me seems to have taken his dislike to a new level". "I can see him back there with a blade...and even worse a flask of wine". "Should we run"?

He's not approching the group, he's going somewhere else and heading in a different direction in the graveyard and is trying to avoid being seen. He shows no interest in any of you.

Noticing the same man that Darcy sees, Skyrn watches him before speaking, "I do not believe he means us harm. But he appears to be inebriated, and is armed; he may mean harm to someone else. I think we should stop him and see where he is going." Finished, Skyrn begins to walk over to him trying to see where he is going, assuming no one stops him.

Gibs turns back and leers at Skyrn. His war razor appears to be covered in blood and a strange and unearthly voice issues from his lips.

"Leave me alone, fool." he sneers and runs off into the night attempting to get away from you all and dissappear into the shadows.

Figuring he should put his pack away, instead of sitting it in a corner, "Madam Kendra, I want to thank you for letting us all stay here. I promise I will do all that I can to earn my keep." He says sincerely as he moves to grab his pack. "Which room should I take, Madam?" He asks. "The smallest one will suffice, I assure you."

So Kendra, babe, sleeping single in a double bed, huh? ;) (Bow-chicka-wow-wow!)

Lol, cool your jets ace. Relationships go through stages ;)

"There are many bedrooms. I have my own and I don't feel comfortable letting anyone else sleeping in my father's bed so you can choose any bedroom you see fit. I've made them all up and they are all the same size." she smiles softly towards him. "You are all guests, I couldn't imagine forcing you into the smallest room in the house and besides, my father had taken that one. Small but functional he'd always say. I better wait up for the others. I don't want to lock my guests outside."

"Thank you, Madam. I was just curious as to where to place my belongings for now. I must confess, I am starting to get a bit concerned about the others. I did not realize time had flown by so quickly and it was getting so late. Hopefully they will return shortly, otherwise, I may have no choice but to go looking for them." He tells her with a look of worry.

No need to apologise. If Mobury keeps working the angle something might happen ;) Also you other guys can chase Gibs if you want.

"They have been out for a bit, but I assume they have tried to approch the area stealthly so they could be taking their time. I'm sure they'll come back with some news." she smiles and then stands up "Can I help you unpack or do you wish to alone?"

"Madam, I would more than appreciate your company!" He responds with a big smile. "Outside of my parents, I have never had the pleasure of such wonderful conversation with another. I am quite unused to it, so bear with me if I tend to ramble." He says as he stands aside with his arm out, allowing her to go first. "After you, Madam." He says with a smile and a curt bow. "I think it is best you choose the room." He says a bit anxiously. "I would be a bit embarrassed if I mistakenly wound up in your father's room." He honestly admits. No sense in making a fool out of myself in that regard. Try to limit yourself Morbury. Not use to being around people. Especially not one as kind as her. That is something I am definitely not use too.

Hearing the strange voice, Skyrn looks at Darcy and Rauno, looks in the direction of the retreating acolytes and then back at his fellow tomb-raiders. With a quick comment of, "That did not sound normal and there was blood on his blade," Skyrn takes off after Gibs as fast as possible.

Run if Gibs is farther than forty feet away; if he is forty feet or closer, Skyrn charges and attempts to tackle him to the ground (trip attack).

Remembering he has already been in there once, he mentally berates himself of his foolishness. What happen to limit yourself, Morbury? "I guess I should say, wind up in there again, by mistake. Forgive me, Madam," he says as he rubs his eyes, "with all that has been running through my mind," he sighs as he stops and turns his head to look at her directly, "I," he continues but gets himself caught up in her gaze for one slight moment, then just as quickly, mentally shakes himself free. "I, um, completely forgot about our search earlier and cannot seem to remember which room it was." He says with a shrug and an awkward smile, hoping his momentary lapse doesn't betray him. Quickly gathering his wits about him, he continues, "I will be more observant this time, I promise!" He says playfully and with a big smile as raises both his hands up as if surrendering. I do not understand why these thoughts continue to invade. I must remember what I am. This is my lot in life. I have accepted that. Calm yourself, Morbury. Just calm down and stop being a fool.

Gibs isn't triped, but he is annoyed and up close it's obvious something is very wrong. His eyes appear to be milky white and the blood appears to be splattered over his clothing. He continues to attempt to escape the restlands and head into town.

Gibs

Kendra smiles as she shows you to one of the spare bedrooms. It was a study recently converted to a bedroom, but it is placed right next to her own bedroom, marked in advanced with a sign that says "Kendra's" The windows overlook the town centre and up on the wall hangs a painting of a beautiful young woman who looks a lot like Kendra, only her hair is loose and pitch black.

"Don't fret, my father was often the same, forgetting things as he ran around and did his research. At times he got so engrossed in research that he once burnt his meal in the oven." she giggled remember arriving home to a kitchen full of smoke and sighs as the pain of her father returns, though she doesn't show it. "I hope the room is to your liking." she gives a soft smile as she hands you a key to the door.

Morbury smiles, thinking of how adorable her giggle is, takes the key and nods, "Thank you, Madam. I truly wished I would have known him more." He looks around, inspecting the room. "Madam Kendra, this room is perfect and might I add, you have quite a nice home. I cannot help but feel a comforting warmth here. It reminds me of days long past..." He smiles at her as he remembers the days of living at home when his parents were alive.

Putting his things down, he starts to work on his armor. "I have got to get out of this armor. My clothes are begging for air." He explains, hoping to avoid any possible misunderstandings. "There has been a time or two I've actually fallen asleep in it. I cannot begin to tell you how exhausted I felt the entire next day. It helps deflect a weapon but it does not make good sleeping attire." He says with a smile and in a matter of fact tone.

While doing so, he studies the picture of the woman. "Madam, if I may, is that you in the picture? Or is that someone related to you that happens to look a lot like you, save the hair?" He asks curiously.

Do we want to restrain him? One of us get the sheriff? Rauno pinches a bit of colored sand from one of his pockets. If no one protests or voices an alternative idea, he'll cast Color Spray on Geb.

well it misses as Geb is miles away in the city with the same name and a powerful ghost on top of that ;) But seriously, he's running away so I don't see how a 15 ft range could reach him unless you were running with Skyrn?

Male Human Barbarian 1/Alchemist (Chirurgeon) 1

If Rauno does not knock him out with the Color Spray, either due to distance or a successful save,

Muttering to himself, "Well, he is definitely not normal. Time to give chase..." Skyrn continues to pursue the fleeing Gibs.

Once more, run if Gibs is farther than forty feet away; if he is within forty feet, charge and attempt to trip him up.

Rauno won't let Skyrn go after his alone. He'll pursue with him, and cast if any opportunity allows.

I'll go with that he ran with Rauno and fired the colour spray on him.

He's helplessly blinded and stunned if you guys want to act at restraining him or something?

At the commend about how nice her home is she bows softly with a smile.

"Thank you, umm Mr Dedlock." she seemed unsure about simply calling you that, but once you mention about getting changed changed she blushes slightly and turns about, facing down the hall and away from the door, only turning back to look at the painting. [b]"Oh, that's my mother. Her name of Laura. The painting was made so many years ago and my father must've hung it on the wall whenever he needed inspiration in his work I guess." she trails off, rubbing her arm absentmindedly as she clearly doesn't feel comfortable being near someone when they're getting out of their armour.

Seeing her uncomfortableness, Morbury realizes he has made another mistake. Caught in between wanting to say something and finishing up removing his armor, he quickly takes it off and then fans his vest and shirt so as to get a bit of air. "Forgive me once again, Madam, I truly did not wish to make you uncomfortable. You can turn around, Madam, it is okay. I wear this vest and shirt underneath so as to be a bit more comfortable." He tells her but can't help but feel like a fool again. Why do I continue to make a fool of myself?! Relax Morbury, you will learn. He thinks to himself in order to help him calm.

He then turns to the painting, "So that is your mother." He says in a quiet voice, yet loud enough for her to hear. "Madam, I must say, she is truly a vision. A most, beautiful woman." He tells her as he admires the picture, then unable to withhold his other thought, he turns to Kendra, "I cannot help but admit, Madam, it is obvious you take after your mother in that regard." He says sincerely as he gives her a friendly smile. "Oh and Madam, if you would, there is something I need ask of you?" He notices she looks at him curiously, "I would be most delighted if you would call me Morbury." He asks with a wide grin.

Rauno will remove his reinforced scarf and use it to hog tie him while he is stunned. He'll kick away the bloody razor and check him for any other weapons or tools.
