Well, looks like there's a new Thunderbolts coming out.

Just wanted to mention it since, Jim Zub is the writer.

I'm of two minds on this; on the one hand, I love the original TBolts, and it looks (at least thus far) as if this title will be providing my favorites- Atlas (Erik Josten), Moonstone (Karla Sofen), Mach-V (Abner Jenkins) and- the best of all- the Fixer (Norbert "Paul" Ebersol).

However, I'm not sure about the creative team. I've only read one thing by Jim Zub, which was fine (Pathfinder #1), though I've heard good things about him. The artist, however, strikes me cold from the cover that has been shown and from other works of his that I've seen. His art seems very similar to Rob Liefeld's, and I am not a fan of Liefeld.

So I will definitely be checking this run out, and I'll give it at least two issues, but I am a "wait and see" on whether I'll stick it out beyond that.

I loved original thunderbolts.

I can't wait for this, as I did not care for the newer incarnations(although blizzard, speed demon and taskmaster were AWESOME).

Yea, everything up until the end of the Niceza run was great.

I tried staying after for the wrestling thing and really thought that it should have been it's own separate thing. Came back for the two miniseries with Niceza and the original team but stayed away from Ellis' run as I'm not a fan of Ellis when he works with established superhero characters.

Wayward by Jim Zub is pretty decent though. Not really a fan of the Pathfinder Comics. Skull Kickers is kinda fun though.

The wrestling thing should have been it's own thing, I wholeheartedly agree.

I liked the original run a lot, but I also enjoyed "Cagebolts" era. Moonstone, Satanna, Ghost, Boomerang, Centurion, Mister Hyde, Troll and Fixer were fun and dynamic team, and I really liked the time-hopping arc. It had great artwork thanks to Kev Walker. It had some badass moments like when they fought against nazis with Captain America in the 40's and bumbed to King Arthur's court. And it had Boomerang. Oh Boomerang.

Pretty excited for more classic Thunderbolts. Did not like the latest series.

I liked boomerang a lot. I think more could have been done there.

I liked the original series a great deal. I wish they brought Baron Zemo back to lead the group. Zemo is flat out one of the best characters Marvel has. Just ignore his terrible portrayal in that one movie.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Better Ellis than Ennis.

Neither one would work best.
