I am wanting to start a new campaign. I am able to post often from work, my problem is, I am unable to do maps from work. So I am curious what AP lends itself best to a "theater of the mind" campaign.
For what it's worth, I've seen a lot of campaigns that just use Google Drawings or Google Sheets for maps, which may be enough for your purposes. With that said, I think with good descriptions, any AP can work fine without maps, especially if you're going for a less "Tactical" and more "Narrative" approach to combat.
With the exception of reach weapon users and a few niche AoO-generating builds, mapless combat works fine. I've done this with my RoW PbP for a good bit of the fights and haven't had any issues.
Yeah, I don't see why you couldn't do most any AP without maps. You'd probably just need to ban or strongly recommend against people playing builds or classes that rely heavily on tactical placement, like reach weapons and AoO stuff as mentioned above.
