As soon as i started posting stuff about a Lich named Tammy, like "Tammy's evil" or "Tammy isn't subtle" i knew she was on to better things, i had hoped to eventually get someone (anyone!) to give her stats, turns out someone did :-D

Of course Tammy love attention, so i decided that like all good villains, she needed an origin story.

Enter, Hell's Vengeance, Tammy's origin story.

So, do i build her as a Ranger? as our fearless creative director saw her, or do i tweak it and go with something else?

How would you make Tammy?

Only Parameters is she must be a halfling, evil, and have enough caster levels by the end of the fifth book onwards to become a Lich.

20- 25 point buy if you want to go into that much detail.

Typical AP level progression looks like this:

Book 1 1-4
Book 2 4-7
Book 3 7-10
Book 4 10-13
Book 5 13-15
Book 6 15-17

If Hell's Vengeance follows this pattern, then a Ranger could indeed become a lich by the middle or end of the 5th book. Lichdom is attainable at CL 11, or Ranger 14.

Absolutely! I left it vague like that because Lichdom is very complicated, so until the books are out.

Might have to check out Warpriest on the PRD.

Ia Ia Tammy FHTAGN!

Class ideas so far:
Ranger (because it's established, but I play Rangers quite a bit).
Occultist

Mesmerist (not a cult leader, alas Leadership is not allowed).

Witch (love witches)

Sorcerer

Oracle (a fun mystery tho, like dark tapestry maybe)

Warpriest or Cleric (although Tammy probably doesn't like being organized about religion)

Druid (blight druids have always intrigued, but again, not sure if it says "Tammy").

Magus (Hex Blade maybe?)

Any other classes, prestige class or archetype sound fun?

I have quite a few companions and campaign setting books, so anything you want to suggest is dandy. :-)

No one cares about Tammy?

I guess I should have posted in advice so I can sift thru 84 posts telling me I did it wrong. :-)

Bloodrager.

Halflings with rage are always super fun!

I will have to look into that, perhaps it's time I bite the bullet and look into purchasing ACG.

I don't follow the right threads to know enough about the character you're talking about. Her dog died, I think?

In any case, with my Jon Snow-esque level of knowledge, I recommend antipaladin (insinuator), from Agents of Evil.

What about Kineticist, do they Lich?

Tammy can relate to Carrie.

I don't believe so. No caster level or spellcasting means no Craft Wondrous Item.

That said, there's a ritual called Eternal Apotheosis in Occult Realms - it'll make you a lich and (like all rituals) can be performed by anyone who can make its skill checks. So... there is a way for anyone, even the basest fighter, to lich!

Rejoice!

That is very fascinating.

That opens up so much more!

That's also a great idea, I've always wanted to make an Anti-Paladin of Norgorber.

That said, you're going to want a high Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (religion), and Spellcraft. Plus 21 folks who won't be missed you know, whoever. And lots of rope.

Tammy has rope, the rest can be... manipulated.

I love the idea of the Carrie-esque halfling kineticist, whose hatred of dwarves is so profound that she seeks to extend her life (kinda) indefinitely so that she can keep on murdering them. Good to see that that's now an option!

I now want to make a straight-up fighter lich (with a conductive weapon).

Graveknight?

Nah... not snowflake/hipster/whatever enough. Just anyone can be a graveknight, man. It's so passe.

LICH, YO.

Graveknights are cool and all (mad props to Lord Soth!).

But if I'm going to be eternally dead, I'd like to get out of my armor every once in a while.

So I realize, it's been 20 years (give or take) since I watched, or read Carrie, was she more Telekinetic or Pyrokinetic (also big props to Firestarter, my second favorite King book!).

Silver Crusade Contributor

Telekinetic. I don't remember if she was also pyrokinetic, or if something else caused the fire.

It's a good thing Hulu has Carrie from 2013 then :-)

My brain says the fire was part of it, but it's been so long, I'm not sure how reliable that is.

Of, course, that could've been because I read Carrie and Firestarter back to back...

Also tempted to make her a worshipper of one of The Whore Queens, who are all pretty bad ass.

Loved Wes's article on Mahouthfull, but Net for a favored weapon is... not my thing.

Ardad Lili and Eiseth are both appropriate tho.

Carrie's telekinetic. The fire is caused by electrical wiring (controlled by Carrie as a whip/snake) catching someone's dress on fire. Or maybe it's the curtains, can't quite remember.

Yes! That sounds right, I knew I was combining the stories, many thanks!

Telekineticist seems a better choice than Pyrokinetic for supreme evil anyway.

Don't forget about the void element from Occult Origins. ^_^

*sigh*

I knew the barrage of Occult books was going to bite into my pocketbook eventually.

Edit: at least I have motivation to get my taxes done Asap :-)

Man, Telekinetic blasting is complicated. :-)

And I thought Geokineticist was complicated:-D

Not complaining, mind you. :-)

Another question for those who know, is Lissala officially back amongst the gods, Shattered Star seems to hint yes.

Someday I want to make a Lashunta Cleric of Groetus modeled after Adam Goldberg (specifically from Fargo season 1). I can totally picture Adam Goldberg with antennae that constantly twitch with dissatisfaction. :-)

There's at least one fully functioning cleric in canon, so it seems likely. ^_^

Where would the source material for such a (Lissalan) cleric be? ie, is it sanctioned for PFS play?

Tammy digs Zyphus.

Her domains and basic info appear in Inner Sea Gods, while her deity article appears in Pathfinder Adventure Path #65: Into the Nightmare Rift.

As for PFS...

Gods: all of the gods listed in the appendix are legal choices except daemon harbingers, great old ones, infernal dukes, malebranche, nascent demon lords, orc deities, outer gods, qlippoth lords, and whore queens;

I really didn't think she'd be legal... but she is. Go to town. ^_^

starts rolling up cleric of Easivra

So, I'm thinking Telekineticist, Neutral Evil (my favorite evil) worshipper of Zyphus.

I'll crank her out tomorrow sometime, it's going to be cold as s+@& tomorrow, I'm not going anywhere.

Of course, thinking of a legitimate last name is the fun part. :-)

You mean it's not "Thelich"?

Yay!

Crunchy!

Rolled 12,11,16,15,14,13 (28 point buy equivalent)

Edit: I was thinking
Str: 9 (11; -2 halfling)
Dex: 16 (14; +2 halfling)
Con: 16
Int: 13
Wis: 12
Cha: 17 (15; +2 halfling)

Or could switch Dex and Cha, not sure how much Str fits in, my guess finesse factors in more, could also switch out wis or int with cha, since halflings get a +2 anyway.

Scarab Sages Contributor

keep in mind overwhelming soul would be neccessary, seeing as undead have no CON score.

Oh, s%@@, I never thought of that, thanks!

Does Tammy really need to be a Lich tho, with so many paths to immortality these days.

Except, then I guess it's traveling into Kirk gets radiation poisoning instead of Spock territory.

But don't Lichs just switch to charisma for constitution stuff, seems like something I'll look into.

Not a fan of overwhelming soul.

Thanks for bringing it up!

Also considering Nanite bloodline sorcerer now, and Psychic, of some sort.

Silver Crusade Contributor

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, Overwhelming Soul is... pretty tragic.

As for the nanite bloodline, don't go sorcerer. Eldritch Heritage and VMC sorcerer are right there, man.

There it is. :-)

From creature types in Bestiary:

"No constitution score. Undead use their Charisma in place of their Constitution when calculating hit points, Fortitude saves, and any special ability that relies on Constitution."

Of course there is this further down

"Not subject to non lethal damage, ability drain or energy drain."

So it is a bit of a grey area.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I'm not an expert on kineticist, but I think the issue with undead is more burn than Con. You can't take non-lethal damage.

Edit: ninja!

I don't have Unchained, it's not really on my to get list, but thanks :-)

So I guess, the question is, would you allow a Lich to accept Burn, as it's a class ability, or not.

I like the former rather then the latter, and still fits into the classic Lich trope of burning inside with power (and hatred!).
