Invisible stalker vs See Invisible

Rules Questions

So an invisible stalker is immune to invisibilty purge, which would make it visible to all people, fine. The question is, if i use see invisible, would i be able to see it? This effect doesnt cause it to become visible, just lets me see where it is at for sure.

Regarding see invisibility:

You can see any objects or beings that are invisible within your range of vision, as well as any that are ethereal, as if they were normally visible. Such creatures are visible to you as translucent shapes, allowing you easily to discern the difference between visible, invisible, and ethereal creatures.

The spell does not reveal the method used to obtain invisibility. It does not reveal illusions or enable you to see through opaque objects. It does not reveal creatures who are simply hiding, concealed, or otherwise hard to see.

See invisibility can be made permanent with a permanency spell.

Emphasis mine.

Nothing in the invisible stalker's description says it's immune to see invisibility, so you can see them this way.

You see nothing.

You very clearly see the shape, form, and location of nothing.

You stare into the nothing, and you see that it stares back at you.

You could interpret it as something amorphic, with no definite shape (but not as far as a shapeshifter).

Apparently the full text of see invisibility is relevant:

With see invisibility, you see the invisible stalker as it truly is (or would be if it were ever truly visible).

That sounds like a line from a bad romantic comedy.

MY INVISIBLE STALKER CAN'T POSSIBLY BE THIS CUTE!

Female sorcerer casts See invisibility, turns around, sees fat guy in a fedora with a neck beard oreo (where they have three chins and only the outer two have the beard part).

Of course, at that point the invisible stalker, realizing he's been made, simply says, "Bon jour."

Going back to 3.5, there's a specific entry for Invisible Stalker:

"A see invisibility spell shows only a dim outline of a cloud, while a true seeing spell reveals a roiling cloud of vapor."

Nearly a 7 year necro to show a ruling from a different game. Okay.

Just what I needed to know! Thank you. A good old answer is as good as a good new answer.

The surreal reality of seeing someone necro with pretty pointless and redundant information that then is chastised for being a necro by a guy with the same avatar that someone else then later necros the same thread to congratulate the original pointless necro post is not lost on me.

Right?
