Dark Folk slaves

Advice

Where on Golarion would be the best places to buy different dark folk preferably above ground?

What would be the best system for setting price?

Just curious why exactly would you want with a dark folk slave?

Maybe he has some vampire friends that could use some sunblock :-) or is tired of clumsy concubines knocking stuff off the night stand when it's dark lol

As too where to buy one I would think absalom has everything. Don't think they're big on slavery though.

Don't know much about them but The Dusk Market and The Nightstalls are supposed to deal in black market slaves.

I know next to nothing about Golarion lore, or the different species and nations represented, but history has shown us that it's most economically viable to purchase slaves from groups that enslave their own people, as groups that do the whole raiding thing have so much overhead. I'd say talk to your DM about putting some basic fluff text together for local slavers in the area you're looking at, something that could be learned about with a diplomacy check to gather information, and go from there.

As for price, $800 in 1860 translates to about $21000 today, so I'd say base it on the cost of living on page 405 of the core. 10gp a month for average room and board, consumer pricing index puts the average cost of living at about 400 a month, so $21000 is somewhere in the area of 525gp.

Absalom totally has slaves, and would in fact be a good place to purchase them. Failing that, Qadira (and especially the city of Sedeq) would be probable places to get a slave.

If you're of a sufficiently high level, you can do planar travel and head to the City of Brass - they've got basically everything. XD

As for pricing, it's on the table. The GM could reasonably increase the price by twice the normal amount for rare slaves.

Katapesh, Katapesh or Port Peril, the Shackles.
Both have nearly anything you can get your hands on and both have no problem dealing in slaves.

I'm still curious about what he intentds to do with them

Maybe he wants slave soldiers who blow up when they get killed?

Westcrown has slaves, doesn't it? We just started Council of Thieves, and while reading up on the area for back story purposes, I'm pretty certain I read that slaves are regularly brought in for manual labor and sport-fighting.

Dark folk slaves/servants + Veil + Suggestion to drink a certain magic potion at a certain time = One hell of a party

Or chain a crippled dark folk to a VIP prisoner, the prisoner can't kill the dark folk to escape without possibly killing himself, could also be useful if the VIP is protected from scrying but not the df

Looking for general slaves is one thing. But for a very particular race might be another.... Dark Folk don't seem to be the kind that will deal with surface world slavers, or anyone else for that matter, and catching folks for whom darkness is natural and replete with ways to defeat light, kinda precludes any regular market for them, If you want to enslave dark folk, you very well may have to catch them yourself.

Keeping them from knifing you in the back is your own problem.

The dark stalkers equipment is unaffected from the explosion so you could even leave a message behind ;-)

Nidal. They do slave trade with the dark folk directly. Of course, it's mostly FROM Nidal TO the dark folk, but it's not impossible that they're willing to sell a few of their own back up the chain.
