It's been a long time since I've played PFS - can you use a pregen if you have a character in Tier? I thought the last time I looked, no.

If no, I'm going to play a 1-5 scenario at T4-5, with a lv 2 wizard. Have about 1200 gp to spend thereabouts, 4pp.

I know because of my low level, I will have some problems contributing.

I have like 3 level 1 spells per day, one of them will be mage armor (not sure if it's a good idea to PP purchase wand of mage armor - since this will be a mostly GM Cred character).

Will use familiar option, instead of arcane bond - since I like my fluffy friends(Please help me find a nice adorable familiar, no toads).

What should I be putting for the other 2 spells?

I know my party is full of martial types, no divine casters, the rangers are using CLW wands.

I can carry a couple of enlarge person scrolls but other then that?

You will be out damaged if you try to go the damage route so do what wizards do best and control the battle field. Consider a spell like grease for a combat oriented mission or charm person and disguise self for a more social type mission.

As far a familiar, I am partial to the compsognathus, it's a little dinosaur and you can't beat the +4 init.

Given the right set of circumstances, you could really steal the show with a single use of disguise self and some decent role play.

Yes you can, you just have to apply the chronicle to a character in a lower teir.

You should be fine at level 2 as a wizard. Just keep yourself safe and away from things. If you have a wand of magic missile you will always be damaging. Yes buy the wand of mage armor, you do not get enough spells as a wziard.

Your other spells, I would take grease, and enlarge person is good to buff the others.

I woudl avoid the scrolls. A high int with int skills will be helpful pointing out monsters and such.

Level 4 pregen Kyra time then. Saves me the trouble of book keeping(I hate trying to manifest on short notice), and trying to push a lv 2 character through a T4-5 scenario. Icing on the cake, Kyra comes with a fully charged CLW wand^^

Core has no compsognathus familiars, sadly.

What school are you specialized in or are you an universalist? What are you opposing schools?

As for familiars, I like to take either a rat or a weasel (+2 to fort or ref saves respectively, which are often weak spots in a mage's defenses).

@Cullen, I don't think think the comsognathus is Core

My wizard will be a diviner, opposition schools enchantment, necromancy. First level school spell will be true strike. Almost certainly elf.

Creating characters out of dm cred in a hurry doesn't give you much time to think about back stories :(

Its like get the mechanics right and a servicable character sheet before game time :(

Yay, for free cure light wounds tomorrow!

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Shoo :p

The first thing I'm going to do is to buy a longspear and fill my spells prepared with command spells and hold person. No CLW for yous.

Liberty's Edge

I agree with the earlier posters, a wand of Mage armour is is very much worth it. Almost all my sorcerers or wizards spend their first two prestige on that and I've never regretted it.

Very useful spells to have, especially when playing up, are Grease, Enlarge Person and Feather Fall. As for cantrips, always have Detect Magic and you ought to have a damage dealing cantrip (Acid Splash is generally the better of the two).

Yeah, creating chars in a hurry is always hard on the backstory.

Thanks guys, I appeared as a Kyra pregen to save myself the headache of book keeping. I'll have a rat familiar for my wizard when she occasionally pops out from behind DM cred screen. Hopefully she will be high enough level to have mage armor out of her spells and not need to use a wand.

You might want to consider this spell as a diviner for your level 1 slot

Silver Crusade

Is there a scenario you can pick that up in when playing Core?

Sadly not core.

Silver Crusade

I know it is not Core itself. Spells outside CRB can be added if they appear on a scenario chronicle or in a spellbook from that scenario. You can pick it up and learn it.

Thus the question about whether it appears in a scenario anywhere.
