Would like imput for my investigator

Advice

I'm making a character that does pretty much just skills. Especially intrested in talking, knowledge, perception, and disable device. Here's what I've got.

Investigator, empiricist archtype. (Completely int focoused point buy)
Half elf for skill focous (linguistics), bonus to perception, and access to favored class bonus.
Level one feat is orator. Level three looking at extra investigator talent.
lvl. 3 talents thinking trap spotter and expanded inspiration.

Looking for advice on how to be better at talking (linguistics or the like) and trap finding/disabling. Thanks!

First of all, this looks like a pretty commonplace build (though orator is a strong-but underutalized-feat.) You should have no problems doing what you want to do, though I would grab yourself some eyes of the eagle so you for sure find those traps.

As a side note, my friend made one of these for PFS play (though he was human and didn't go for orator) and he turned out to be pretty good in combat once he hit level 5. Swift Study plus the right alchemy boosts can really turn this character into a decent standup fighter (especially with int to damage.) He runs around with a mace (since he can hand-and-a half it, unlike a swordcane) and can really be helpful in a fight.

I'm not saying that should be the focus of your character, just that you shouldn't discount the ability to fight if you have to.

Other than that, there are a series of cracked ioun stones that give competence bonuses to skills (so they don't stack with eyes of the eagle.) But they stack with masterwork tools, so get one that adds to disable device, and a few that add to common knowledge skills, if that's the route you want to take. They cost from 150-200 gp a piece, so if you can find them, pick them up.

Lastly, there is a magical set of lockpicks if you want (restless lockpicks). They're a bit costly (8000 GP) but basically you start a disable device, and then they finish the job while you walk off (in case the trap goes off.) Bonus: They are made of mithral, so most traps won't damage them.
