My friend and RPG Superstar Top 16, BJ Hensley, is a total polymath. In addition to fun Pathfinder design, she does web design, cartography, editing, and is a well-connected marketer. She also acts as herald to my writing group, the Four Horsemen.

It is my great pleasure to herald her for a change. BJ's new line of adventures falls under the brand Playground Adventures, and she's launched a new web site to bring us family-friendly adventuring suitable for roleplayers of all ages.

It's about time that SOMEONE took the reigns and helped find a way to bring one of our favorite pastimes to the next generation of gamers!

Especially given how much good it can do for reading skills, creativity, arithmetic, and in a lot of other areas!

Legendary Games is doing much the same, and our first kid-friendly adventure will be out next month! The more the merrier in helping raise the next generation of gamers!

I love this. I can't wait until our little rugrats are a bit bigger. Right now they have little/no attention span (and the youngest one puts everything in her mouth), but I would love to get them into gaming. The oldest one says things like "In Pathfinder...." and has his own dice he likes to play with, and it makes my heart sing. He just doesn't want to do anything yet. A few more years and I'll be all over this....

I started mine out on the idea early by reading choose your own adventures and telling them bedtime stories where they were able to help make decisions. It gets them in the swing of things at an early age.

So..my kid saw the web site, played with puzzles, and printed coloring pages of your adventure art. I dunno where else a young roleplayer can do all that, so kuds for those very cool ideas.

Thanks! I really had fun building the site. It's not done yet, I'm working on making a digital coloring book as well. And eventually will probably have a few little games, word searches and the like. I just haven't had time to get that far.

I'm curious. Any of these have better options to play kid PCs?

Well this is a gap that can definitely can be filled. We once played the Dragon's Demand with Ponyfinder (refluffed the Kobolds as Gem Hounds) and its surprising how quickly ponies can turn into vicious murderhobos. And then there are the Adventure Paths. Carrion Crown is the horror AP but Rise of the Runelords is frightening and certainly way past PG-13.

These are actually designed to be played by children PCs! AFIN is easily played by first level children. And Pixies is designed to not only be played by children but also has a valid reason for how they become advanced level.

We also have family friendly teen adventures such as G.U.M.B.O.. And have iconics for both child and teen adventurers releasing soon as well.

Malwing just houserule any race as small size without the penalty to strength. Or leave it in. Seriously its quite fun to watch Small Aasimars, Tieflings, and Elves run around.

I hope you guys grow and expand and become really popular in about 6-7 years when my kid will be old enough to play because I definitly want to involve him in this type of activity.

Another question; Does any of this play well with the Pathfinder Beginner Box? 5th ed was my go to intro RPG but Pathfinder expands way more so I've been going back to the beginner box as my go-to system for simpler games.

I haven't actually seen the beginner box myself, but the adventures are Pathfinder compatible and relatively simple.

So I just have to jump in and say that I picked up Pixies on Parade and A Friend in Need this week. I haven't finished reading AFIN yet, and I'm hoping to actually play test Pixies before I write a proper review.... but it needed to be said that these are awesome.

My kids are still a bit too little for this but we will absolutely be using these adventures to get them into gaming in the next couple of years. In the meantime, we are thinking of running Pixies for an adult group just because it is awesome.

I haven't done more than browse this thread & your site, but what I have seen so far is encouraging. While I will likely be giving at least one of your offerings a try, I have a question. Is there any chance of pdf versions that are a bit more 'printer friendly'?
The pictures that I see are gorgeous, but my ink cartridge budget is limited...

All of our releases are available in print as well as PDF. They haven't shown up as print on DTRPG just yet if that's where you are shopping for them but they will be available there in the next week or so.
