Unfortunately it appears some people had to cancel their pledge. I hope it wasn't a serious matter that caused that. Whoever you are you have my sympathy. Perhaps you may be able to pledge at a lower level in the future. In any case, take care of yourselves and your family first and foremost.

Sorry for the Blight distraction. We just wanted to use the Halloween period to plug the upcoming project as well. After today we will return you to your regularly scheduled Borderland Provinces KS.

I agree that the next KS is very exciting and highly anticipated. I would just hate to see the current KS fail because of diverted attention. I will stop annoying anyone further.

Others have wondered about the high goal on this KS. Here is Matt's answer as posted in the comments section:

"The funding goal on this one was necessarily high because with 3 editions of 2 books, there are 6 hardcovers to print."

Swords and Wizardry Lead Developer, Frog God Games

Fear not! Stretch goals abound, and tomorrow we will begin pursuing them in earnest...

Just under $3000 and 14 days remain. There is a poll on the KS Comments page that shows the interest in the 3 systems. PF is falling way behind.

Love the new avatar, Matt!

The poll is not that definitive, really. Not that it matters anyway, as long as it funds and we all get our books, whatever system. It's looking good to fund, I hope :D

I think it's going to fund for certain, in fact, I'm making sure we have enough stretch goals planned, because it could rise an awful lot with 12 days still to go.

Will there be any method to combine postage on any of the KS's? Since there's so many abound, I think I've spent over $100 on shipping alone - money I prefer to give to you guys; even if it meant waiting a while for the next KS project to be printed.

For those of a 5E disposition Quest of Doom 2 is now an add-on for $20 (save $5)

There is an update that relates the Deities of the Borderland Provinces.

I don't know the answer to that, but it's worth it for you to shoot Bill an email and ask I'd think. He might be able to help you out with that and potentially save you a bundle.

Bill has done that before for me

Woot! Looking forward to this!

Any of the books come with Deity information?

Some. There's a lot more about the temples, organizations, worshippers, and religions than about the deities themselves. This area is right in the center of the best-known gods mentioned in the adventures, like Thyr, Muir, Jamboor, Kamien, Freya, Telophus, Mitra, and Belon the Wise, so it focuses more on the influence of their various temples.

What there is, in terms of new information on religions, is a detailed discussion of how heresy functions.

Too bad, would love to see a chapter dedicated to the major deities/religion in the area kind of like the inner sea world guide.

Well...now that you mention it, there are about to be some stretch goals on the table. And with all this deity stuff we've written, we'd sure like to put it somewhere. :-)

P.S. ONLY $502 AWAY FROM FUNDING!!!

It is not annoying Silverhair, but agree of wanting to make sure this one funds first!
I know the feeling of money being tight. I doubt I will be able to back the Blight and will have to pick it up when funds are more available. I am scraping right now to come up with the $35 this month:(

I just remember how pestering I was during Cults of the Sundered Kingdoms KS. I am trying to not do that this time.

BTW it is now $165 away from funding.

Yes, Greg, I want an appendix about the deities of the Lost Lands.

Me too! With this thing about to fund, I think we should be hearing from Matt soon about some stretch goals. And I think a deities appendix would probably be a pretty high priority for that.

Funded!

I will third that on the deities appendix! Been looking for one for awhile now:)

Yes, a deities appendix does indeed make for a splendid stretch goal!!

We've met our funding and now get into the interesting part - Stretch Goals!

Borderland Provinces focuses on a key area about the size of Europe where many of the larger Frog God Games adventures take place (Rappan Athuk, Lost City of Barakus, Cults of the Sundered Kingdoms) and ties them together. It is a dark medieval fantasy realm filled to bursting with adventure, but still has plenty of room for you to insert your own adventures.

We are also publishing three SEPARATE versions for Pathfinder RPG, Fifth Edition, and Swords & Wizardry so you can pick your poison (or poisons)!

Matt! How did you get your own picture as your avatar? ;)

Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in!

So yeah, backed.

And... we just breached the second stretch goal! Yeah! :)

Wow that was fast!

Yes it was! :)
And in fact, as of right now, we are actually only 1229$ from stretch goal nr 3: Perilous Places #1, that contains encounter tables for The Forest of Hope and The Creeping Mire!

So anyone still on the fence, come on in and join the fray!

Less than $600 to reach stretch goal #3 which is:

$50,000 Stretch Goal #3: Perilous Places #1. Specific encounter tables for those foolhardy enough to venture into the Forest of Hope or (even worse) the Creeping Mire in Keston Province. An addition to the free Alternative Encounter Tables PDF.

Loving these stretch goals!

Encounter tables are ALWAYS useful.

Waiting on an important call tomorrow, if things go well I will back this once I'm off the phone.

And I'm finally back from the convention, so I can get on a computer with a real keyboard and mouse. We had a great time meeting people and telling them about the Kickstarter.

Also we sold a freaking TON of books. Actually, that's not true because we only brought 700 pounds or so. I think we might have sold 550-600 pounds of them, though.

Obviously, people don't pledge to Kickstarters when they're wandering around in a dealers' hall buying real books for instant gleefulness, but when they get home and settle in I think we'll see a lot of new people joining the banquet.

Glad to hear you had a good convention and sold a lot of books! :) I am a little envious, I would love to have the possibility of meeting you guys at a convention - and buying a lot (more) of your books!!!

Swords and Wizardry Lead Developer, Frog God Games

We love meeting people at the cons -- it's the best part.

Time to join up, for those who are waiting: we've got only 4 more days for the Kickstarter to run!

You also have to play in one of Bill or Matt's games. It's like watching a maestro conduct an orchestra.

In Matt's case, it's like watching a maestro conduct an orchestra while standing on 2 chairs!

Come on, only $2K to go for $52K! Let's learn more about the Erskaelosi and Benthic and Ethtuwate and Gohtra and Hyperborean and and and...deities. Identify the entities that are considered amongst The Ginnvaettir. How many major pantheons or groupings of deities are there in the Lost Lands? Who are the 47 most commonly worshipped gods on Akados?

Greg's list of deities is sooooo close. Aren't you just a wee bit curious about what is worshipped across the entire Lost Lands?

Matt's confirmed the deity appendix will be regional which is still wonderful. Can't wait!

The deity appendix is a really interesting stretch goal for me. If we beat the goal, hopefully that idea is expanded with more gods in the book.

Short stories? Not so much. More gods? Yes please!

Sorry to see the gods did not make it, but will look forward to the book and the encounter tables. Congrats to the Frogs!!!

The gods WILL make it though :) !! The deities appendix is stretch goal #4 at 52k, and we are already at 51k with 3 whole days to go. So fear not, we WILL get there - and beyond! :D

I'd also like to see the Deific index expanded if the stretch goals go well.

My bad, I got the notice on the payment for shipping on the Northlands Saga and thought, 'The Borderlands kickstarter over already? Thought it still had a few days left?' Too many drugs for my lupus:( Let's bring this thing home all!
