Just came across this interesting tidbit....

RUMOR: Marvel Is Developing A MOON KNIGHT Series For Netflix

Scarab Sages

Allow me to follow up with....

....WOOT!!!

Liberty's Edge

Haven't we had enough crazy Batman movies?

;)

Scarab Sages

True, there are a ton of similarities between the two characters. I think, however, there's enough of a difference that this could really work well in conjunction with the other Marvel Netflix series.

Moon knight is batman. Just a hell of a lot more honest.

Liberty's Edge

Mooney. Rhymes with looney. - Peter Parker.

Never heard of him

And with a hell of a lot more starting baggage.

I remember the comic as a kid in the 70s but never read them. Consequently I know only what I was told today about the character.

I think if they play up the supernatural aspects (My first encounter with Moon Knight was in the West Coast Avengers) it can make him different from Batman. Might also work if they make his strength/sanity shift with the phases of the moon.

That's what I'd like to see. In the current run of Moon Knight, they are playing up the supernatural aspect a bit more. Much like you, my first encounter with him was in West Coast Avengers, but it's only a dim recollection. Didn't his powers shift with the moon back then?

I would also like them to include the multiple personality disorder that he has. As in he has several peoples "Souls" sharing his body and mind.

Yeah, I vaguely remember a story (West Coast Avengers, I think) where the bad guy had mentally dominated the group of heroes, paralyzing them; Moon Knight was initially affected as Marc Spector, but then decided "okay, then I'll be Steven Grant" and he could move again. The villain whammied the Grant personality, and he was momentarily frozen until he "switched" to Jake Lockley and punched the villain out before he could do that again.

Or he's just crazy.

Depending on the writer and when we're talking about.

I like to describe as "Batman, but crazy".

Wow Moonknight would be awesome

I've been a big fan of Moon Knight for a while now, and have recently gone back and read his origins (there are several versions), in the Epic Collection trade compilation released last year. I think there's a lot he has in common with the other "street-level" heroes they're doing Netflix series of, and he could make a great addition to that. I don't know if he'd be enough to carry a feature, but if DD (another fav of mine) can carry a TV show, then MK is more than capable of the same. I imagine that they'd wait to see how the mystical elements of Iron Fist are received before deciding if MK would include the Khonshu stuff or more of the straightforward mercenary with a bunch of personalities backstory.

I'd pay movie theater dollars if they make a Moon Knight episode based on that brainscape battle against that fungus entity from one of last year's issues...

Warren Ellis's run on Moon Knight is one of my favorite comic book runs of all time. And I'm very excited for this rumor! Moon Knight definetely would work best as a Netflix-style series.
