For one attack every other round, which you can only do after a round of pre-buffing, and then only 3 times a day max if you use all your 4th-level spells on named bullet, that's not much. A Fighter archer of the same level should be able to get the same amount of damage in a round if he hits with all of his arrows, but he can do that all day, every round.

If you want a similar concept, try a Witch with the Strength patron and the Fate's Favored trait. Casting divine favor is a big accuracy and damage boost, and you can pick up Arcane Strike to keep damage up as well. And even on an Int-based full caster, you're better off with Rapid Shot than Focused Shot.

I would strongly suggest you take 1 level of fighter, 5 levels of wizard, 2 levels of arcane archer, and the rest in eldritch knight.

You start off with 5 levels of wizard, interspersing a level of fighter at some point. This enable you to qualify for eldritch knight. Then you take levels in eldritch knight until your BAB hits 6 so you qualify for arcane archer. Take your two levels in arcane archer (for imbue arrows), and then back to eldritch knight.

Alternatively, you could probably just take the new magus archetype (from Heroes of the Street?) which is focused on ranged attacks which will essentially do the same thing. It is slightly more martial and will end up with less spell casting ability overall, but will still probably fulfill the role you want.

The current build you have proposed is actually quite weak compared to what a fighter or ranger focused on archer can do. You need to use a lot of spell slots just to make your attack roll viable enough to actually hit someone, and then other spells to actually make your DPR meaningful.

I actually play this build in PFS and in my local game and it rocks. Forget about true strike. Also, be an elf instead of a human; you can easily start with 18 Dex and Int using 20 point buy.

Use gravity bow and the stupendously underpriced bracers of falcon's aim.

Now, the idea here isn't to be a dedicated archer, but rather to use your composite longbow as a surprisingly effective alternative to magic missile, your school energy bolts, and your worthless cantrips. You should still be dropping big arcane spells when you need to, but for all those rounds in between when you can't, you can be firing 2d6+Int arrows into melee without penalty, each with the potential for a massive 6d6+(3*Int) critical damage.

And it gets even better if you're in a gestalt campaign. You might be tempted to go martial with your other class, but let me talk you into alchemist instead. 3/4 BAB, all good saves, extracts for your buffs (save your wizard spells for summons/control), +Dex -Wis mutagen for better attacks, and at 6th level you get swift action poisoning!

Liberty's Edge

If this is for PFS, bracers of falcon's aim aren't PFS legal. They're a great item for home games though.

this is what most of my wiz are
tho with less spells buffing the ranged attacks
keep gravity bow
take a level in ranger not fighter go trapper from Umagic which give you trap finding so now your a back up trap spotter(or in my group the only one)
as for races any dex+ int+ will do
