Couple S&S Questions -
Can Seltyiel's Marauder power to draw cards when discard/recharging Pirate/Swashbuckling cards activate more than once on the same check if multiple pirate/swashbuckling cards are recharged or discarded for that check?
Example - If he recharges or discards a Swashbuckling weapon (either by playing it or using it as part of his combat power) and on the same combat check recharges an Eye Patch, would that power activate for both of those cards being recharged or just once per check?
Second question - I'm a bit unsure on the timing on Ring of Rat Fangs. If I have no cards in discard when encountering a monster but discard a weapon for the combat check and then beat the check by enough to activate Ring of Rat Fangs, is that weapon considered already in the discard pile before Ring of Rat Fangs activates to be recharged by the ring?
Thanks!

See this FAQ. If a power can be used whenever a thing occurs, you can use that power whenever that thing occurs, even if this is multiple times in a step.
I don't recall The Ring of Rat Fangs. What is the text on the card?

Something to the effect of when you beat a combat check by 4 or more you may recharge a random card from your discard pile. Just basically confirming that a weapon used for that combat check is in the discard in time to be recharged by the ring.
Thanks for the speedy answer btw.

Yeah, I don't think there's any question of timing on that. That weapon has long-since been in the discard pile by the time you're checking if you should recharge it.
I feel like recently people had questions about WotR Kyra's ability to shuffle a card from her discard back into her deck when she plays a non-Corrupted blessing on someone's check. If she has an empty discard pile when she does that, can she then heal the blessing she just used? Don't see any reason why not! Devs have said that there's no "limbo" space for cards. Once you perform an action with something, it goes wherever it tells you it goes, you don't wait until the end of the check and resolve everything at once.

Uhhh.... about that...

Well, no developer has ever used the word limbo, with the exception of Vic using it once. And when he did, it was in response to someone else using the term and Vic signified that by limbo, he thought of it being displayed. I appear to be the most frequent user of it.
And I think what Dave is getting at is that, even with that FAQ, if you can resolve how you play the card when you play it, you don't need to wait around until later for the disposition of the card. i.e. if you play a blessing that is discarded with no way of that disposition conditionally changing, then you just go ahead and put it in your discard pile right then. I think others have mentioned other games where you essentially stack up all the played cards while playing them, then dispose of them afterwards.

Sure, in the blessing case it's in your discard by the time you'd be healing it (or for some blessings, recharged if it matches the top of the blessings discard). No question about that, and no need to wait until checks have been rolled to do that since you already know how to handle it.
I was just contesting the notion that there isn't a "limbo" space, because there is and some cards (notably spells that allow you to make a check to recharge) make use of it when resolving.

Okay final question regarding this stuff - when the Ring of Rat Fangs causes you to recharge something from your discard pile, does that activate Seltyiel's power to draw cards (assuming he had the appropriate feats and the card being recharged had the Pirate/Swashbuckling trait) or is there an understanding that the power means only cards recharged from your hand?

That's my bad, I remembered "limbo" being bandied about as a term a lot more; maybe I was confusing it with "there is no stack," which comes up more often.
I should've put a disclaimer in about spells, but I guess there's a fair number of Allies and Amulets (and now Books) that don't decide what their action is until it's resolved. Though, with the exception of spells and combat spell-like effects, most of these don't have an interstitial check before you roll for the recharge. Either way, that's what Dale gets for posting off the cuff between tickets at work~
