First, some thank yous ... Elizabeth Corrigan and cartmanbeck for organizing this get-together. (We gotz cake!) Thank you to Rebel Song for the extra set to play with. And a big thank you to Bel Air Games in Bel Air, MD. A very nice game store ... very welcoming to our group. (And clean and well stocked!) Thanks to all of you.
Second, HE EXISTS! Without testing for synthetic DNA, Hawkmoon269 does exist. Along with Calthaer.
And thank you to Sean and Eddie for joining us to play a marathon set of scenarios today. We were eight; two groups of four. Both groups got through Adventure 1 without a single death and without a failure. Lots of Paladins today (at least one of each) along with a succubus and a monk (Sajan) and a wizard (Radillo) and a couple others.
Third, the other table did actually turn to HM to get an expert opinion. It was humorous.
Definitely enjoyable playing with "experts" (as Elizabeth described us once). We didn't question the correct way to play the cards but it was interesting to see how groups play things like Demonic Horde. First time it popped up, we played it sequentially. After that, we rolled all at once to see who was hit with the servitor demon.
It was a fun time and everyone seemed to enjoy it. It was nice to be able to finally meet Hawkmoon, Calthaer, cartmanbeck and Rebel Song in person. We're looking to do this again in the near future.
[UPDATE: And another huge thank you to Elizabeth for the gift of Arueshalae to my mini collection! It is very much appreciated and if I ever find one, I will gladly replace her in your collection!]

It was totally awesome! Thanks so much Elizabeth and cartmanbeck for putting it all together. It was easily one of the best times I've ever had playing. Probably the only other thing that would come close would have been the first time I ever played and the first time I Karzoug taken down.
It was great to get so many people in person that I'd interacted with before, but never met (Theryon Stormrune, cartmanbeck, Elizabeth Corrigan, Rebel Song, Eddie from the BGG forums). And they were all great, fun people to play with. And there was so much generosity. There were dice given as gifts, cards from DriveThru, even a mini! Thanks everyone that came and played. And afterwards, we talked and chatted about PACG. It was just so much fun. I'd love to do it again sometime.

It was great meeting everyone in person! (Except for you, Elizabeth. I already knew you. But it was great meeting you the first time, too!)
I had fun, and playing Raz is even more fun than I thought it would be. I actually got to use her power of discarding/burying a mount and running to the rescue! And I beat up a bunch of villains! I'm used to playing support characters so that was a bunch of fun.
Let's start planning the next one! :D

Oh, and we had a sampling of the Lazy Susan that HM and Calthaer use in their home game; and brought with them along with the Broken Token card stands.

Eliandra, I have a feeling the difference in play styles deals more with the fact that I end up teaching the game a bit more than HM plus I also play quite a few co-op games like Lord of the Rings LCG and Legendary Encounters and Shadowrun: Crossfire.

A bit of celebrity trivia for all you forum fans: Hawkmoon plays closed-handed, but Theryon plays open-handed. ;-)

I was the only one in my group not playing on a character mat. Hawkmoon actually printed up a special one for his. (He's well versed in Photoshop.)
I may need to get an Arueshalae one made!

Calthaer was playing CD Lem and Eddie was Melindra (who was quite squishy and hung out with Lem a lot).
I added my table's sessions to the website, so everyone should be up to date. Elizabeth, I don't know your e-mail so I don't know how to allow you to report (I just assume you're reporting, let me know if you're not).
At least you can't tell if I'm making a dumb face or not on the Facebook page. Hah! And it's good to know my hair looks nice from the back. ^_^
Theryon, thank you for the "Premium Community Promo Cards." My boyfriend looked at one of them and went "... why would you want this as an ally? This is awful!" and I had to explain. Maybe it should have been a barrier instead?

Theryon, thank you for the "Premium Community Promo Cards." My boyfriend looked at one of them and went "... why would you want this as an ally? This is awful!" and I had to explain. Maybe it should have been a barrier instead?
It started out as a bane. But thought it was funnier as an ally. I may remake it as a barrier, though, as you suggest. It fits better with the ranger.

I'm just teasing re: the open/closed hands. The small tables definitely lend support to a closed style, but I have also spent much time teaching.
Also, I am reporting. Was hoping to do so tonight, but my intentions to report do not always coincide with actual reporting.

Yup, that's Hawkmoon. He didn't show up in blue sage robes either. But we weren't too disappointed. Glad to see that he uses the standees from his accessories. He and Calthaer are very much into customized stuff for their game experience. Rebel Song's hair looks good from the back. (Although I was expecting half black and half white.) cartmanbeck loves the custom card creator more than me, it seems. Eliandra is a very gracious host. (She brought us cake!)

I played Class Deck Lem. Eddie played Melindra (the sneaky wizard). With Rebel Song as Raz and cartmanbeck as Class Deck Sajan, it was a pretty effective group, I think - lots of complementary skills. We'll have to switch up the tables next time, maybe - need to make sure Melindra has a healer, though. I haven't done support as much since a Runelords run-through, so it was fun to get back into that role again. Thanks for running our table, Rebel Song! EDIT - and thanks for reporting our characters' heroic deeds!
You guys down in Maryland (Eliandra & the rest of the crew) were unbelievably hospitable. I was kind of floored to see us visitors' names on the cake. I think I can speak for all of us from afar that we felt like very honored guests. Thanks so much for setting this up and running it; hope we can do it again in the not-too-distant future. It was a lot of fun. We will have to finish up HM's turntable so that we have two next time. They are not too difficult to make - just require a bit of measuring. The reason we have the dice towers with it is because dice rolled on the table can sometimes roll under the turntable.
As an aside, Bel Air Games was a really nice store.

It was also nice to play at a table where everyone was an "expert" (with or without quotes? I would happily apply that label to everyone else there) in the game. HM & I usually play with people who don't have their own copy, so they're not as familiar with the cards & don't read these message boards. HM & I were talking on the way back about how much better the games flowed as a result.

Oh, I know. I didn't take any offense at it. And it is an interesting thing to note. I just was adding that while I started out playing open handed when I first played, there was a reason why I shifted to closed handed.

Super plus to this. I have very limited experience with game stores, having only been in I think maybe 3 total. And this was by far the nicest one I'd ever been in.

Yeah, it was super fun to just see the game flow so smoothly with 4 players at a table. Even with people playing characters that were either new or probably had little experience. We had 3 class deck Paladins, 1 class deck monk and Arushalae (which takes a GM boon from GenCon to play in Organized Play with the Rogue deck). So of those, the max time anyone had with those characters was probably a month or so. And I was Radillo whom I'd never played before either. But everyone just picked up what their characters did quickly and the game just went so well.
My personal highlight for Radillo was when she took on 3 Demonlings from a Demonic Horde and had to punch two of them to death.

I hadn't heard your Tom Vasel reference. I can see it.
I imagined Hawkmoon looking more like a stereotypical professor.

I do own a pair of glasses that I have been told when I wear them do make me look like a professor. But I usually only wear them at night and use contacts at night. But I don't own any tweed.

We started at what - 12:30? 12:45? Many of us were a little late, then we were setting up and chatting. I know there was a break of, say, 20-30 minutes for food, at least for our group. We stopped at...6:30-6:45? We did five scenarios, with maybe a 10-15 minute break between them (with one being 20-30 for food)...
So...six hours minus, say, an hour (and change, likely) for between-game breaks. My guess is 4h 45m to 5h.
