Some people really don't like losing.

Stereotypes are earned, not learned.

Lol was that put on? How patient was the other guy :)

That was totally set up, the guy that looks at the camera and says, "judge" is smiling when he says it. He's not nervous or scared at all, and it seemed like he flinched when the aggressor first touched the underside of the table, almost like he knew it was coming. Just more people trying to get hits for themselves on youtube.

The video is indeed set up, the nerdrager in the video is Francis a character played by boogie2988 on youtube.

You can find his channel here http://www.youtube.com/user/boogie2988

To me the conversation sounded like the other guy just didn't want to attack and simply end the game.

Read the post above your's... :-)

The voice was classic though. I seen someone get that mad before. Well almost. They did not flip the table. I wish I could have gotten that on camera.

I know. I was just talking about the content of the video like I would about any piece of fiction.

"Francis" in that video is the inspiration for the "Fat Guy" in the South park WoW episode, or so the internet rumor goes...

Well, DUH. Why would people put videos on Youtube if not to get hits? You're acting like there's something wrong with it. :P

How about this one?

I don't have any problem with people putting legitimate videos of themselves or their friends doing stupid things, or even just video commentary. What does bother me is when somebody uses their Bluff skill to try and get me to believe that what's happening is really emotionally relevant. False drama can take a flying leap off a precipice as far as I'm concerned.

This just made me realize that the reason I knew it was fake was much more about my perception check, than my sense motive. My sense motive didn't kick in until I had observed some irregularities. So is there a way Sense Motive could be enhanced by quality Perception?

So you don't believe fictional videos should be put up on Youtube?
Yeah, that's a strawman, but it's also a little close to what you're saying. You're saying 'false drama' is bad. It's funny, so it can't be bad. Ergo, there's nothing wrong with false drama.

Oh, and Perception and Sense Motive are perfectly separate. Say a bandit claims to be trustworthy. Sense Motive detects that he's lying. Perception detects the ambush he's leading you into. They both reveal the same things, but by different routes. :)

Man, you you must really hate all the various forms of fiction from literature, to television, to films.

A ton of forms of entertainment are false drama meant to suck you in and temporarily trick you into believing it's emotionally relevant. False drama is one of the core foundations of art across every medium.

Hell, pathfinder is a game that revolves much around creating a make believe world filled false drama.

I think you misunderstood me. I appreciate fiction, a lot actually. I appreciate fiction when I know it's fiction going in. That way I can decide to willingly suspend my disbelief. What I don't like is when someone tries to "pull one over" on me. Remember the fiasco with the book A Million Little Pieces? Google it if you don't. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Where somebody publishes something, be it book, video, whatever, and wants you to believe it's real when it's not. I want to make the choice to suspend my disbelief. I'm cynical enough as it is, and people trying to bluff me into thinking something is real when it isn't is a pet peeve of mine. Another pet peeve I have is when inanimate objects don't do their selected job appropriately.

Also, why exactly am I being attacked for my opinion. Oh, wait, it's the interwebz. It's the digital home of attacking people for their opinions.

Edit: Also wanted to say

In your opinion. I have another opinion, and the great thing about the country I live in is that we're all allowed to have our own opinion. :)

Well, that WOULD be a good point, if I hadn't just called the Thought Police. ^___^
In seriousness, I watch a bunch of Let's Players called the Yogscast. One of the guys acts like a total idiot. I'm pretty sure it's a persona, and that he's actually fairly intelligent. But it's still funny.

Anyways, I don't think the idea of that video was to convince people it was real. Those that watch the guy regularly were probably perfectly aware. So our opinions on 'false drama' don't really come into play. :33

looks around nervously for the thought police...

Well, this being the internet, things can and do get taken out of context...

Case in point (expanding upon what Kobold Cleaver was saying): the person in the video (boogie2988) has his own YouTube Channel, and posts videos all the time. Some of them are serious; some of them are silly...

But what happens is, certain videos he makes go viral and get posted all over the internet making the viewer think they are serious. But when taken in context, you know they are not (and it takes all of one click to see who he is and what he's all about)...

And quite frankly, it was a YouTube video after all. One should never take them at face value...

My point is, the person who made the video was not trying to "pull one over on you" or anybody else for that matter, it was just one video taken completely out of context...

So, you just don't like to be tricked, I guess.

Myself I enjoy it if it's not a trickery aimed at, say, getting my money or getting me to agree to a political or religious point of view.

But when I am tricked for the fun of it and nothing immoral follows, well, I rather enjoy it. Why? Because I don't consider I am stupid, and I recognise that someone able to trick me is rather good doing what he is doing.

"Well done sir! You tricked me! And that is not done easily!"

So, I listened to boogie2988 (as himself) and discovered a very interresting and articulated human being. I may not agree with everything he says, but the guy is intelligent and I enjoyed getting his point of view.

Dude! I'm not trying to tell anybody else what they should or should not post on youtube. All I'm saying is I have a very solid preference for what I like and don't like. Also the context of the video, upon the receipt of my watching it, was exactly what caused it to bother me, because I didn't know anything about the poster. Did I jump to a conclusion about it's purpose? Yes, but I didn't have all the facts. All I had was 1 single view, and no outside knowledge of the poster, or his usual content. Should I be flogged and have my interwebz privileges revoked? I suppose, if my opinions bother people that much. Which brings me to my final thought. It was my opinion!! I'm not trying to disparage the booginator or anyone else with romantic dreams of interwebz stardom. I'm just saying it ain't my cup of tea.

Whoa! Relax man, nobody is trying to play the tough police here. It's possible to just have fun by trying to understand each other and accept not everybody is the same.

Agreed, except for that fact that apparently the last few posters think that I must be from mars because of my opinion.

Edit: Also, I'd like to enter my first round of nerdrage which boosts my volume and vehemence by 4, my resistance to your attempts to discount my opinion by 2, but lowers my defenses by 2.

Did you read my post as an attempt to discount your opinion?

Sorry then, I was but trying to express mine, not to discount yours.

People won't always react like you, or agree with you. That does not mean they are bellitling you.

Saying "here's how I feel about that" is not the same as saying "here's how you should feel about that."

Anyway, have a nice day, sir.

You as well sir. Also, for the record, I harbor no anger nor resentment against you or any of the other posters that found my opinion contrary to their own. I simply felt the necessity of making it plain that one opinion is as good as the next. Or, in this case, the next three. :) =P
