School Familiar archetype clarification

Rules Questions

Ok, so I'm getting confusing info. I hear on one side that you can just take the School Familiar archetype like you would the Valet or Mauler archetype, while on the other side I hear you have to take 2 specific feats in order to qualify for these abilities. Which is it?

here's what you're looking for. You get the lesser school as part of the archetype, and the greater school power as a feat. I don't think it could ever be the best choice though.

Lesser School Power: A school familiar gains the lesser school power matching its associated arcane school.

Greater School Power: A school familiar whose master has taken the Greater School Familiar feat gains the indicated greater school power of its associated arcane school.

Pretty sure both are feats

School Familiar

Greater School Familiar

I stand corrected. I couldn't imagine taking one let alone both.

Really? I like rolling twice on initiative and taking the better result. I like getting +2 to the DC of a school for one feat instead of two. Maintaining illusions without concentrating is something a lot of my bards pick up, and it's nice to have it available as a wizard. Pass out Ghost Touch when needed as a feat? Nice.

There's a wizard archetype that gets you both abilities, though.
