Advice

Oracle with the Stone Mystery taking the Rock Throwing Revelation:

Rock Throwing (Ex): You are an accomplished rock thrower and have a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls with thrown rocks. You can hurl rocks up to two categories smaller than your own size. The range increment for a rock is 20 feet, and you can hurl it up to 5 range increments. Damage for a hurled rock is 2d4 for a Medium creature or 2d3 for a Small creature, plus 1-1/2 your Strength bonus.

Would that work in combination with Monk archtype Far Strike:

A far strike monk can make a flurry of blows as a full-attack action as long as he's attacking with thrown weapons. He can't make a flurry of blows with his unarmed attacks or any other weapons.

I don't see why not.

In order to help your question get the proper attention it deserves, and the best chance of being answered, I went ahead and flagged it for the Rules Questions Forum.

That being said, you'll need a way to draw those rocks as a free action if you're looking to Flurry with them. Quick Draw would probably work, although since Improvised Weapons aren't "actual" weapons you may encounter the occasional GM who won't allow it to work.

Quick Draw works. That is how stone giants are able to make iterative attacks with rock throwing.

Edit: also you may note from the stone giant stat block that with the rock throwing ability, rocks are not considered improvised weapons. (Even though they would be for anyone else.) It doesn't explicitly say this, but one may infer it from the attack modifiers.

There's also the Cliff Giant that has Weapon Focus (rock).

I didn't say *I* would disallow Quick Drawing rocks, but there's enough ambiguity surrounding Improvised Weapons that I wanted to warn the OP of possible table variation.

Yeah, of course. Don't worry, Nefreet, I didn't think you were saying that it doesn't work.

My post was meant to be informative, not argumentative.

Also, Cliff Giant is another great example! It's especially good if the OP decides he wants to give his character Weapon Focus (rock). Thanks for pointing that out.

:)

Oh, you must not be familiar with this thread (and there are others like it in the Rules Forum).

It's highly debated whether or not the Cliff Giant having Weapon Focus (rock) means that PCs can select it.

It falls under the umbrella of interpretive dance that Improvised Weapon users must be aware of, where sometimes they count as weapons, and sometimes they don't.

I think when I posted in that thread I was much more hard line about being unable to take Weapon Focus (rock). Now, I'm more on the fence about it. But for others there exists a wide spectrum of allowance.
