Hi all,
Thinking of getting into PFS GMing because I've had a good time playing via PBP here on the boards, and had a question about setting up legal tables:
On p. 4-5 of the guide it talks about using the "structure" of the PFS campaign for a private game with friends. What I'm confused about is this: does this mean that any game I play with 3-8 PFS-registered players, with PFS-legal characters, is eligible for credit? Or do they have to be public events, and that line is more about, "And hey, you could use this to make your own campaign too!"
In simple terms, I guess: can a "private" campaign that meets the requirements also be official, or does it have to be publicized and open?
Thanks!!

Greetings!
It means you may structure your private event the same as a public event.
3-7 players, with legal characters, abiding by all the PFS rules that a public game would require, but where invitation is limited to just who you wish to be there. "By invite only", essentially.
Edited to add: when you create your event here on Paizo.com you'll actually have the option to make it Public vs Private, and check a box whether you're still seeking players or not.

We absolutely support you running your home group through PFS scenarios for credit, so long as you follow the rules for characters and running scenarios. We certainly don't require you to let random strangers into your house just because you are reporting your games. :)
