Oath of the People's Council? Any news?

So... Has OotPC been given out as a boon? Or is "Paladins are not allowed to play support PERIOD!" Stigmata still branded on this class?

I think its a matter of not being allowed to take the whole schtick of another class.

It would appear that they thought the martyr archetype (Horror Adventures) was a more balanced way for the paladin to gain these abilities.

So... stigmata is the right word for it, I suppose. ^_^

paladin's are awesome, so them getting anything makes them better than the base class.

people's council? makes you better than bard or the already approved martyr, banned.

daring viruoso? the new swash archetype? obviously makes you better than a swashbuckler. 2 good saves and divine grace over their intimidate action limited per day ability.

So to keep niche protection (martyr and swashbuckler) they have to ban anything that "does it better"

At least that what it seems like for a lot of their bans recently since I've seen this with quite a few archetypes.

I love how people keep comparinga +1 to Damage and attack to a +4 to attack and damage and think that the +1 is better. :)

Bards have better spellcasting, and full options for Bardic Performance, while the only useful ones OotPC is Inspire, Suggest and Fascinate. Bards aren't melee support and still do Bardic Performance 100x better.

Do you know how many people, despite this not being legal? Pretty sure the number is close to, it not is, an astounding ZERO. Fyi, Stigmata is absolute Garbage unless you have an Assmari boon to use, and there are better options than that.

None of their bans have helped "protect" any valid builds. The choices they are "protecting" are garbage tier that, lets be honest, if someone brought to your table, you'ed grown loudly at the fact you have to carry a useless build.

You could always make a separate thread about why it's inclusion would be a good thing, and make a good faith argument about the advantages and disadvantages involved.

Society games are for a number of different playstyles, and while not all character options are on the same level of perceived or real power, most should be able to face the challenges PFS scenarios offer.

I don't see that you have any reported scenarios for Pathfinder Society. Do you play in the campaign?

I agree that niche protection shouldn't be a reason to ban things. People played rogue up until unchained, maybe still after unchained, even though it was pretty much known that it's niche was better covered by others. So if an archetype has cool theme or neat mechanic cause of the class it's based off of, like self-sacrificing to give your party bonuses, it'll still get played by those that want that. Heck, I don't believe we're even sure that niche protection is the reason they ban stuff, just that it's a guess as to why.

I know this is technically Necromancy, but I was informed by one of my friends that one of the new PFS Scenarios has a OotPC Boons available.

Spoiler:
(FotFB lvl 7-11). Can someone confirm? :o

^To expand on that, it's rather frowned upon to openly post spoilers regarding boons and other unique chronicle goodies.

I would - but can't. Considering my level is only 1 right now, and even if I use premades I won't be able to use Chronicle boons until I hit level 7, I highly doubt I'll ever get the chance to. With the group /ONLY/ meeting up every 2 weeks, it is highly unlikely that I will ever reach that level - unless I super ultra focus on but 1 character - that I will reach the required level before Paizo forces a Massacre on the playerbase when they obsolete PF1 in favor for PF2.

I highly doubt I will receive or even be able to use the boon. I was just curious.

Also, the group I am playing with is focusing on lower level scenarios right now for newer players, and there is nowhere else even remotely near were I live for PFS, so the already unlikely ability to play the Scenario has gotten even lower.

@TheMonkeyFish, have you considered trying to play PFS online? There may be some additional play opportunities there.

@Lady Ladile - I apologize for not having seen your response while I was typing my post. My phone was slow and my texting skills are less than sub-par. Regarding "Posting Spoilers" - I understand, I just wanted confirmation on if OotPC was ever available ever. lol

@The Masked Ferret - I'll look into that, though my experience with online hasn't been the best when I played other board games online. I'll check it out if I have the time though.

Thanks for providing the Flaxseed link, CrystalSeas!

MonkeyFish, you might find that Play-by-Post is an interesting way to play PFS. It’s slow, but very immersive and roleplay-rich. The difference between PBP and playing live is similar to the difference between reading a book and seeing a movie — both are great experiences, but each brings something different to your playing experience.

Hmm

It can also be fun to play it using a virtual tabletop, like roll20.net there are many ways to enjoy this hobby, I can only suggest to try to various options and see what works for you.
