Fall Equinox is Sep 23rd and Winter Solstice is Dec 22nd this year, so I guess that gives you a nice range for it to ship ;)

I read "Soon".

Software schedules are a heck of a thing, and I think "Soon" is by far the smartest stance to take.

If they're bold enough to repeat on August 20th that the release date is for 2015; I would assume they are pretty confident on the planning. Just my 2 cents.

The question is though, is that "Fall 2015" from the release in which Obsidian announced the PAX debut, or is this writer using old information? If the former then I'm with you, saying it this close to that timeframe gives me hope. If the latter, I don't expect it to be this year.

It's a press release so I would assume it comes from a marketing department at either Obsidian or Paizo.

If that line was from the press release, then I very much expect it to be released Fall 2015.

I will be at that place next week because I am demoing PACG. So I will probably find out.

It could be worse; you could be waiting for a possible Windows version.

Maybe see you next year.

We, at Obsidian, issued the press release. So "soon" is this Fall!

For both Android and IOS versions?

Thank you for the update!

Crazy excited! The video from Gencon really blew me away - I love there is a city map rather than the silly 'board' layout of the physical game, and the graphics look great too!

Played this at PAX a few times and it was a ton of fun. The people manning the demo repeatedly said "Fall" and "Android and iOS" so I'm pretty hopeful.

Some notes:
During an encounter if another character has an ability or card they could potentially play (blessings, Lem's d4, .etc) to affect the outcome, their portrait gets a little "!" to let you know.

You get a preview of the villain and the henchmen cards at the beginning of the scenario so you know what you're in for.

The cutscenes have some pretty great banter between villains/heros and other notable NPCs. The banter seems to be dependent upon what character you're playing. For example the villain made a quip about expecting someone taller (it was Lem who encountered him and triggered the cutscene) and Lem came back with (paraphrasing) "and I expected someone with more wit, I guess we'll both be drinking deep from the well of disappointment tonight".

The game auto-calculates a lot of stuff for you which can be jarring at first (where did that d4 come from? why is my bonus +4? wait, what skill am I using?) but it speeds up the gameplay a lot.

The demo had a few bugs in it, especially with cards that either let you add dice or auto-defeat a barrier/boon.

The animations and art was beautiful and I felt a lot more of the world come through than when playing the game, but it wasn't always obvious if I needed to tap, double tab, or swipe something in order to proceed.

Actually, the most jarring thing is that you can automatically use skills that aren't appropriate (eg revealing the Thieves' Tools to gain d4s when you have no Disable skill - there are some times when that is actually appropriate). Luckily you can undo things before you roll the dice.

I was contemplating getting this. Banter like that alone may be worth it :P
