Hey this is my first time using the forum so tell me if I am doing something wrong but I am hoping for a suggestion on a problem our party is having. We are level 7 and are playing a summoner, paladin, and fighter. We just encountered a cr 13 green dragon and the summoner summoned a advanced shadow demon and promptly turned invisible. The demon used manic jar on the dragon and it made a terrible save and was trapped. My question is, is there any way for us to permanently keep the dragon and not kill it. The demon will last 19 more rounds and the magic jar spell will last somewhere until the demon disappears I believe. We also have an orb of dragon kind artifact but it is for red dragons.

But with only 2nd level paladin spells and 3rd level summoner spells, probably no way to keep the pet dragon. Maybe if you already have scrolls of charm monster, geas, or dominate monster.
We kinda had a crazy adventure that got us a relic from a different plane. It was called the shadow staff I believe.
So that's how he summoned the shadow demon

Charm monster is a level 3 summoner spell would that work
Charm monster would work, however you would have to be extra careful around it until you get someone who is a druid (either via encountering one randomly or via new character) to be able to get it to be friendly without the spell, and some way to cage it. A Wizard or draconic sorcerer might suffice, but unless you were actively feeding it troves of gold, it would probably just try to kill you as soon as it is free of the spell's influence.

It lasts for days at a time, so just recast it, but it can end prematurely if you ever "threaten it" which is interpreted by your GM.
i have a lamapad wife wich is pretty much a 5th level Druid w/o an animal companion could she make it friendly
You can make it friendly by being friendly to it. Or him. Or her.
Charm Monster has a relatively low save DC (13 + the summoner's Cha mod) and dragons have good Will saves, so it will be mostly luck to keep it charmed.
But try friendly bribery.
