Flurry of blows with non-monk weapons

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

A few months ago, I overheard someone mention some character build mechanic that would allow a monk to make a flurry of blows with any weapon they were proficient with. For some reason, I think it was a racial feat that allows it, but I can't find it listed in the ARG. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Pretty sure they were just wrong.

Crusader's Flurry is the only thing I can think of that comes even close.

That sounds familiar. Thanks.

Feral Combat Training does the same thing for a natural weapon.

A sohei at 6th level can flurry with any weapon he has weapon training in. If you multiclass into a fighter and get weapon training you can theoretically flurry with anything (firearms, earthbreakers, natural weapons, elven branched spears...)... well, anything that can fall under actual weapon training, so probably not improvised weapons.

I seem remember there was a long period of those long, heated threads in the rules forum debating whether that was any weapon training, or just the options from the sohei.

Was that ever settled officially? I honestly wish to see how that was revolved.

I didn't see anything in the FAQ or errata, so I just assumed, but maybe I erred :).

Crusader's Flurry + Martial Versatility works for basically every weapon

Doesn't work, Crusader's flurry is a general feat, and martial versatility only works on combat feats.

Also, that's not what Martial Versatility does. Well, maybe. Rules text contradicts known intent. RAW, you can use Martial Versatility to get 10' reach with your dire flail and Rapid Reload (Dagger) and treating your shield as a one-handed melee weapon with reach.

Yeah...I went with the shortest reason it didn't work since I didn't want to open a can of worms, or spend 3 hours pouring over rules forum threads.
