PFS but not PFS... Interest Check

Recruitment

I wasn't able to find something like this in a recent search, but I am wondering if anyone has thought of/ started/ wants to play in/ wants to run a Pathfinder campaign of the PFS Scenarios, but as an actual campaign rather than PFS rules. If this happened, I would love to start with First Steps and work through each Season as a growing campaign, obviously modifying for Character Level, Challenge, etc. My goal would be for the PCs to be part of the 'real world' of Golarion, with jobs, families, etc, that also happen to be members of the Pathfinder Lodge. I love PbP for the ability to really shine as roleplaying experience that I've found FtF doesn't always have, going into back story and personality and such. If such a thing happened, I would be very interested in playing in it...

Why dont you run it?

Dark Archive

I could definitely see how that could be fun, I'd be willing to play in such a campaign, not sure about running it.

Honestly? Time. While I mostly enjoy running rather than playing, there are times I may not get to the computer for a couple of days. I feel it's unfair to those who can post all day because they are on all day. I wouldn't want to be the one that slows down my own game...

It's a pretty good idea.
It would start out easy for a GM, being able to play straight from the scenarios. But they'd have to edit the high level scenarios for low level characters and vice versa. And if it went on long enough, the scenario challenges would have to be completely revamped as level 12+ as PFS has no scenarios beyond the "retirement" levels beyond a module or two..

I'd be up for playing that. Or at least all the book modules that are pfs, start with level 1s and go through it leveling up as normal rather than as pfs xp.

Count me in. I love the PFS scenarios, but nobody seems to want to just run them... for obvious reasons (kinda GM heavy work once you start hitting higher levels.) But a PFS campaign without PFS limits? Sign me up!

Looks like we have enough interested for a normal size party. If you guys are okay with what I said above about timing, then I will run this. I'll make this a recruiting thread and post CharGen info etc. With that in mind, I was thinking of adding in the background skills rules and wound condition rules as well as the overclocking and rolling for spells rules from Unchained. What do you guys think?

I'm chill with the slower post rate. I'd like to see the char gen info before getting, but I have a few concepts I'd love to try out (I'm guessing less strict standards since we can do PFS without PFS rules, per se).

Alright... give me a bit and I'll start up a recruiting thread. This is beginning to sound more and more fun to run the longer I think about it. I've got two other games I'm running, but as said, this one is mostly written for me, so it won't be too difficult.

and >>>Here<<< it is...
